Vidal is not dumb certainly as a player. What makes you say that besides the way he can be with refs? Would Sergio Ramos not be worse? Rooney at times if we’re basing it just on referee reactions?

Brilliant footballer, but lacks a bit on the brains department. That quality is something which helps him on the high drive of his game. But the negative side is that he also is always prone to being sent off for something reactionary like this

In an interview following up that incident in Chile right before the Copa America his explanation/apology to fans was something along the lines of people not understanding how difficult it was "to be Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Arturo Vidal".
Vidal has been sent off only 7 times in his international club's Carrer (3 at Leverkusen, 1 at Juventus, 1 in Bayern, 1 in Barcelona and 1 in Inter). Last 3 in Champions League, 2 against Real Madrid. He has not been sent off in domestic football since 2012.
