IPL 2015

RCB and Mumbai are doing better now compared to start of the tournament. Starc returning from injury is a big boost for RCB. It will probably be fight between RCB, MI and KKR for last 2 places for playoffs. CSK-RR will stay 1-2 I think.

We have come to a point where a Gayle hundred in T20 in less than 50 balls doesn't seem a big deal. It is like he is due at least one such hundred each IPL/T20 tournament.

Just look at Mitchell Starc's stats. Only bowler to average less than 10 AND have economy rate less than 6! In fact, no other bowler in that list fulfills even one of that criteria(except Aravind of RCB who has just played one match and has average less than 10). It is incredible. Starc to me has a very solid claim on being best limited overs bowler in the world right now. Test, he has work to do.

Last he played tests, he was awful.

Starc's always been good at limited overs. There are some bowlers like that who bowl at good zip and vary length and line quite unexpectedly. Doug Bollinger did this for CSK in the IPL when he debuted as well. Starc's got a good yorker on top of that as well.

Bollinger was a great asset for CSK in earlier IPL seasons but was never going to hit great heights in all forms.
Starc is lot better and I think is capable to be better at tests too. He has great control on line/length now which wasn't always the case and he can swing too. It maybe his purple patch is lasting too long but I think this confidence will help him become better at tests. If we consider last decade or so, whether he becomes better than how Anderson and Steyn are/were and on consistent basis, remains to be seen. Johnson I won't put there at top because he had too many on-offs, still even reaching Johnson level of achievement in tests, there is some way to go for Starc.
 
Ironic that the two teams on the top of the table should not even be there. Both should have been suspended as per "IPL laws".

By the way anyone wants to pool in and buy Chennai at 5lac? I'll throw in 50k. We can make it the first crowd funded sports team.

I may but on condition that the home ground is moved to Pune and franchise is renamed Pune Super Kings from Chennai Super Kings.

This is the first time I've seen a guy batting for 8 deliveries getting man of the match.

Poor captaincy for once from Dhoni. Bravo should've bowled four overs.

Didn't watch the match but read text commentary of last few overs on cricinfo later. Dhoni admitted it was tactical error on his part and said that fast bowlers had already gone for lots of runs and Negi had figures of 3 overs, 10 runs before that over so he went for Negi.

I don't understand why Dhoni keeps Bravo till 14th over to bowl his first though. Bravo can thus get at max 4. Better to bring him couple of overs before at least so that there are options to tweak things later.
 
Russell totally changes game with his crazy hitting. He & Pathan are deadly combo to have in middle-lower order.

This innings was seriously too easy for AB. Literally took zero risks and made a ton at a strike rate of way over 200.
 
lol AB is mad. I don't think bowling team can do anything other than admire. If you can't stop it, enjoy it and all that...
 
He's actually incredible.
 
Missed the innings, have to catch the highlights later. Nice to have them both on fantasy, picked the "wrong" one as captain though.

I'm currently 722 all round but i've only 5 subs remaining.
 
More like it from RCB. Took them enough seasons but they've finally cottoned onto the fact that your best players should play at the top. Gayle, Kohli and AB is a front 3 that won't be bettered.
 
They have dropped more easy catches this past week than i have seen in my life time watching cricket. Although, they have took some blinders. Very weird.

Ranked 8300 with 43 transfers left. I was around 26000 only a few days ago. 3,5 transfers per game should easily see me in the top 1K.

That front 4 would have been even more lethal.

I seriously don't understand how the combined cricketing brains of RSA and RCB couldn't work out that you probably want the best batsman in the world going absolutely ballistic right from the start.
