Ipl 2009

Oh...has this thing started? Didn't notice the circus in town.

who saw Tendulker & Jayasuria batting yesterday? Wow, it was amazing!!!!

Sachin and Jayasuriya murdering Kolkata.

103 from 9 overs. Both of them, especially Sachin, playing some amazing shots.

Crazy thing is Jayasuria run rate (53 from 30 balls) was far higher than Sachin's!!! And sachin was awesome ... so WTF was Jayasuria?!

Sachin played better. Higher strike rate not necessarily an indicator of quality of stroke play.

Both were fantastic, though.

Yusuf Pathan again today.. 62 off 30 balls. 6 sixes.

I think they sent him back because he's a bit rubbish at cricket

Because he's become rubbish in the past 12 months.

I don't know why Kallis is playing, though. I'd start Ross Taylor ahead of him.

Boucher, then. Won the match today. Best player to have in pressure situations. Almost always delivers. Stupid decision, whoever decided to drop him.

"Silly moment of success"

I might stab my ears next time I hear that phrase. Forget that it is a shit in the first place but no one even uses it correctly.

Twats

He's played well for Banglore, yea. But he wasn't performing for South Africa for a long time. I've been watching a fair bit of cricket and he's almost never delivered for them recently.

He's just come back from injury. They said he's not physically fit enough for test cricket, weirdly enough.

Setanta is shiteeeee

they having 'technical difficulties' and are back into the studio every 4 overs....FFS

21 needed off 1 over and Kolkata still managed to feck that up

Seriously? I was rooting for Delhi too but I really didnt care that much. Hope Deccan win now. Must find a video of his innings.

i hope bangalore win it since i despise channai and im bitter about deccan.

@mehro: there's no team from your home state. maybe azar might add a local moradabad team now

Last time I actually lived there was 1997. And even that was a one-off. Been out of there since 2nd grade and have only gone back for school vacations. Although yeah, technically my parents still live there so I guess it is my home at the end of the day.

How could this Deccan team have finished 8th last season, with a younger Gibbs, Gilchrist, Styris and Vaas in the team, and with Shahid Afridi as well? Dwayne Smith (who's been great) has probably been the only change, but they didn't really need him with Styris, Afridi, Gibbs, Gilchrist, Symonds and Vaas!

Gibbs flopped. Vaas has been past it for years now. Styris is rubbish in T20.

Their problem was they didn't have any balance. They kept losing because their bowling was very mediocre. RP Singh and Afridi(who has been shit at batting for awhile now) were the only good bowlers they had. Ojha was just coming into his own last season.

This season they added Edwards which balanced out the team and they started winning.. now they're just carrying the momentum, having replaced Edwards with Ryan Harris(who is not as good, but again, provides balance).

this format is a farce!!

the two teams with the most wins and most points aren't in the final.

its like aston villa and fulham playing the final for the premier league

So the Deccan Chargers, after finishing LAST last season, win this edition of the IPL. Closing ceremony to come, now.
