Internationals September (World Cup Qualifiers)

I do love Roy Keane. He was a bit of a nob a decade ago when he first tried his hand at being a pundit but he’s really comfortable now and found his groove and he’s one of the best by a country mile.

100% Gareth Southgate’s fault to arrogant to even make a sub…

Southgate turned england into a defensive juggernaut. I get that he's boring, that england have so much attacking talent, etc etc, but if it's near impossible to score on you, you're going far

Can't believe Southgate made no subs. Not that I was desperate for Saka in particular, but as an example, he trusted him to start vs Germany and Denmark in the Euros, but not enough to bring him on when it was obvious we needed fresh legs. Nothing he does ever makes sense.

Horribly frustrating night for Wales, Wilson should have scored after 40 seconds when clean through and it was pretty much one way traffic but the lack of any other recognized striker behind Kieffer Moore really told tonight. Constant pressure but Bale is ultimately being asked to create and finish and he cannot do both, Roberts also missed a sitter and the keeper made a few good saves from Bale who also hit the post but it just wasn't to be.

He's shite. A championship level manager.

The conceded to a team of Championship players..

Micah Richards has rehabilitated his reputation, Roy had the super intense character down, and I do believe there is a performance in that, but so much more chilled in the last 2 years, your cool Uncle instead of always serious Roy Keane TM.

A decent manager and we have a shot at the World Cup. Having Southgate essentially makes it pointless, though.

Don't think it'll matter much in the end. Wales are pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs regardless of this qualification campaign courtesy of their Nations League performance.

For a team that historically were and are the biggest penalty choke jobs you won't get far by just defending....

Do Gareth and Ole run a substitution hate group that I'm unaware of?

Do they burn benches in their spare time?

Hansi Flick doesn't get the respect he deserves. I think that may change after the WC in Qatar

I just don’t see any connection between Ole and Southgate. Ole actually gets us playing some exciting stuff which I have never seen Southgate produce. Yes Utd can frustrate and flatter to deceive but we at least carry a threat and produce chances which is more than can be said for this England side. As I said, Ole is a different level to Southgate as a manager and coach.,

The lack of substitutions really is baffling. It's a wonder how it isn't widely called out and criticised by the media. That's now Croatia, Italy and tonight where we've been leading but have been run into the ground with the XI on the pitch with no tactical substitutions made by the coach to try to stem the flow of momentum. Yeah, I know tonight means feck all in the grand scheme of things but it's the same mistakes over and over again and it'll cost us again.

England retreated and invited them on from 88 mins, Poland were just waiting for an easement from England's play. They played a strong game and kept harassing while we had possession but couldn't build. Lewa's quality is always lethal, barely in the game in the second half but us sitting back with a few mins just allowed them to get a foot in the door. Could see the Poland goal coming very easily once that changed.

We’ve literally just been to a Semi Final of a WC and a European Final.

Hardly pointless

Southgate has done a good job in making a cohesive and working team since Bobby Robsons unfortunate Italy boys but he won't get them further then that

There is conservatism and cowardice and he veers dangerously close to the latter and has shown to inclination to change that

He needs to be thanked and replaced with someone more daring it would be a shame to waste these lads potential

Does he not? I think he's pretty much universally considered among the elite of the elites?

Now this is a take i tend to agree with

That’s all down to the draw though, remember. England have never ever beaten a good team.

Something like that anyway.

Who were the pundits blaming for the equaliser? I've only seen a brief clip but I'd have said that man should've been marked by Grealish rather than Shaw given there was another man on the outside.

Southgate has credit in the bank, he’s gone deep in the two tournaments he’s had but it is dull and I wonder if it’s just good players rather than his management style. I would love to see wenger give it a go for a couple years personally , great with youth, attacking football and has won major trophies in the past and with our attacking talent and solid defence could be a perfect team for him

The aim is to win things. We're not doing that with Southgate so, yes, essentially pointless. Just like against Croatia and Italy, Sothgate's cowardice is inevitably going to cost us next year

Southgate has one of the deepest squads available and he doesn't make a single sub. He mucked that bit up in the final, absolutely ridiculous.

So basically will be remembered as losers and bottlers
《I understand that you may be poking the needle in due to your dubious national allegiance:)
You were getting punked by Iceland before him ffs

Also what dubious national allegiance, you wash your mouth when you adress a Champion of Europe

Mason Mount doesn't need to play well to stay on the field. He doesn't need to play well to keep getting picked. Is his defensive work as an attacking midfielder so breathtakingly good that a team can not function without him?

All 10 top seeds are leading their groups. No huge potential upsets looming for the moment.

Spain looked a bit in danger, but with Sweden losing tonight it's completely back in their hands.

So not unlike the European champions who stayed home to watch 2018 from TV thanks to them pesky ice eaters :D

Also you lot must be thankful that our own very child feeder was generous enough to misshit his penalty knowing it would bring much more joy to pasta man then his own brethren so don't get too cocky over there :nono::D

Sorry couldn't hear you as there was a Champions of Europe parade going on outside

Also, stop babbling through tears

Nope. Sweden 2 games fewer, if they win all their games they top the group
