Internationals September (World Cup Qualifiers)

Neat and tidy, good control on the ball and does not look flustered when pressed. If we do manage to extend Pogba it could be an advantage that they are playing in a pair here with Tchoumani in the Kante role. Still think Rice is Ole’s preferred signing but failing that Tchoumani looks to be an upgrade on what we have.

Rice will cost twice as much due to WHU's inflated valuation. Tchouameni looks the better talent

Denmark struggling at Faroe. There are no pushovers in European football anymore.

Why are France being so passive? Walking around, no effort in the press, casual passes in attack ..

I don’t disagree just repeating what has been reported about our interest and also the rumor that Rice wants the move. With him refusing to extend his price may drop and of course we may have competition from PSG for Tchoumani now thatthey have missed out on Camavinga.

What's his contract situation? Likely cost?

Same as Rice. Runs out in 2024. He gets talked about as some kind of cheaper alternative to Rice but I think people who are expecting him to cost £30-40m will be in for a surprise.

Denmark started the game with just two starters, Christensen and Schmeichel. It's looking like that might have been a mistake. It's been a humongous struggle to break the Faroes down.

France should’ve scored a second, chance started with a beautiful pass by Tchouameni

Just as I’m typing this he’s broken up a Ukraine break too.

Consider me a muppet now.

True, He's only been there a season and cost Monaco a bomb by their standards. I was alluding to the 100m valuation set by WH for Rice. I think Tchouameni will go for less.

I'm not convinced Utd will be in for him until the summer when Pogba's contract will end but there'll be huge competition for him, Haaland and whomever else is in vogue then

Denmark finally squeeze one in, 1-0 with 5 minutes to go. Faroes down to 10 men.

I think United are more interested in Rice. As are Chelsea I think. I'd prefer Tchouameni but to me there's nothing much in it between them. I don't think WH will continue to demand £100m next summer. Tchouameni might be cheaper, but again there won't be much in it, in my opinion.

How does Deschamps remain in a job? A collection of great players and they’re terrible to watch.

Denmark absolutely cruising to the World Cup. Max points, 17 goals scored and none let it. Win at home against Israel on Tuesday, and it is pretty much wrapped up. Yes, it is poor group, but can only beat what's in front of you.

Cruise control. People who thought the euros run was just them riding the emotional wave of Eriksen have no idea about this team.

Did anyone think that? With Eriksen they were many peoples dark horses (myself included).

Deschamps is terrible and Southgate might be better than him right now.

It won't be a surprise if they flop hard at the World Cup.

How long does Deschamps have left on his deal, very underwhelming form from France in last year even if they're still top of the group (albeit Finland have two games in hand).

Zidane available and feels like it will happen sooner or later.

Destroyed Montenegro, now we just have to defeat Turkey and the ticket is ours.

No way Southgate is better, he literally chose a 19 yo kid and a guy who didn't play a single minute in the final to shot the last two penalties for England at Wembley.

Can't get worse than that.

Plus Deschamps have more experience as manager, thus more experience.

The strange thing is, Zidane is a very similar type of manager to Deschamps and I'm not sure he'd improve them that much.

Think ‘right now’ was the operative phrase.

Five draws now for Ukraine. Those very late equalisers they gave up against the run of play vs Finland and Kazakhstan have stopped underperforming France being under some real pressure at this stage.

I know it was only Latvia away, but a very solid performance from Norway. Should have won by 4-5 goals.

Mats M Dahlie was superb in the few minutes he got and should have had 2 assists - but King decided not to give him any. And we actually have a decent central midfield in Thorsby and Normann now.

Are England playing outer Siberia on Sunday? Not sure I could be more bored...

Yeah it’s not very interesting they play Andorra, nothing to get excited about. Soccer Aid probably more competitive..

Wales losing 2-1 in Belarus....sorry Russia.

Were 1 up through Bale penalty but conceded twice in three minutes.

Hard to see them finishing 2nd if they don't win today although sure I read somewhere they did well enough in last nations league to perhaps make play offs that way.

Stupid half from Wales but the problem with being a small nation is that when you have injuries and withdrawals the quality drops fast. 13 players missing and it shows as we have some kids out there who are not ready but still should be winning after bossing the first 25 minutes. The penalty award for Belarus was dodgy to say the least but it completely changed the momentum and now Wales have a big job on in the second half. Bale is the key but with all of the creative midfielders missing he has been dropping deeper and deeper to try and influence play and we need him in the box.

All square, another penalty after a rugby tackle on Ben Davies. Not sure why you would do that considering Ben’s goal scoring record. Got to push for a winner but for some reason Rob Page took off Johnson for Williams, not sure why you sacrifice a forward for a midfielder when chasing the game against a team playing a low block.

To be clear, I love Dan James but I pray Bielsa is not watching today or he is going to be asking for a refund. The pitch is atrocious, Bale almost did his knee when it disintegrated when he tried to turn, so I suppose allowances came be made but today Dan is acting like the ball is going to bite him if he gets too close.

And then he gets an assist

Johnny looked pretty good when he came on.

We got very lucky today though.
