System he uses makes it a dead game that is hard to play against, then relies on set pieces/moments in attack (England have done very well with set pieces under him). It's a sound strategy, but with the players England have.... You really expect more as it's limiting them. Smaller sides should go that route, big sides shouldn't.

This is pretty hopeless. It looks like Rice has been playing left back for half of this game just to cover Saka. Not his fault, but he's just not a left back and he clearly doesn't want to play there either.
Does make me ask the question why is he not playing a left wing back in that position? If he doesn't have one available then why play that system?
