ok, so we just beat Turkey at football
Impressive. Ranked 125th in the world and beating Turkey
They played the other matches with other players but only won one match against Austria at home - and lost 3 matches. With a -2 goal difference.

Fair to say there aren't any outstanding national teams right now other than Brazil and Argentina. Everyone else is having very inconsistent, or downright bad, results.

It was the same story. Bunch of injuries and/or tired players. 2022 has been for France and there has been no continuity in terms of selection. The good thing is that lots of players have had their first games.
To be fair, Croatia also did the double over us. But I really do believe there is no side we can't beat. Of course, we wont be favorites against the big sides, but we will have a decent chance in any game. It always helps to have a solid core of GK, CBs and CMs.

I'm actually a bit unsure as to why trent isn't just used as a winger, which is where he played in the youth team(s). Beck-esque crossing at his peak but can't defend for toffee.
