At this rate I think the play offs are ceremonial and everyone qualifies. Exactly as it should be, all teams, 2 leg knock outs and an open draw!
I think it says it all that this was our best performance in years and was basically just hoofing it and hoping to get the break of the ball. Plenty of heart but a serious lack of talent.

That stat says it all, 16 scorers in the last 17 goals scored for Ireland. We just don't have a proper striker to finish off games for us. I'm absolutely sick after that, would rather we were muck and lost, the fact the lads gave it everything makes it harder to swallow.

They would've too had Mick McCarthy an ounce of courage. We were all over them in that second half but as well as McGoldrick played, he just doesn't have the ability in front of goal and we should have capitalised on our momentum with another attacker alongside him long before they scored their soft goal.
Certainly after Whelan's booking - what was the sense in leaving on a 40 year old on a yellow card with his legs gone when you need to keep your foot on the throat?
Our midfield was piss poor but we waited until the game was lost to make the changes that would've seen us home. Really, really frustrating night because Denmark were awful and that game was there to be won.
