Internationals March/June (Euro Play-Offs + Friendlies)

Maddison more creative there, then all of Foden, Bowen, Gordon, and Bellingham combined. Criminally underrated despite his injury worries since moving to Spurs. Quality footballer.
Changed the game when he came on.

I wouldn't say he changed the game because England were creating chances before he came on, but I agree that's he's underrated and I'd probably start him. Problem is, there's only so many we can play.

Just turned it on. Thought my ears were broken before I remembered it was the Welsh channel. It's already more listenable than anything ITV or BT have managed of late.
Welsh! Crazy not to be able to pick out a single word! I understand more Russian than this! And I have never learned Russian!

I firmly believe Southgate is a deep undercover Scottish sleeper agent.

Rice
Bellingham
Mainoo
Bowen
Foden
Palmer
Maddison
Grealish
Rashford
Saka
Watkins
Toney
Kane

SURELY anyone can make a front six out of that lot (and I’ve probably missed some) and a style that gets the best out of them?

Dunk? and doesn’t give Branthwaite any time!

Guys a moron.

Slovenia beat Portugal and Denmark comprehensively beat their bitter rivals. Feck me. We're in the fecking group of death.

I can't deal with how absurdly good Lamine Yamal is at his age

That's a fairly mad assesment of a decent 15 minute cameo. Too many better players in the areas he likes to play. And I like him as a player.

I'm going to Holland vs who ever wins the Poland Wales match today at the Euros.

Hope it's the Welsh. Polish fans sound dangerous :nervous:

It's fun picking out the player names among the gibberish that's coming out of their mouths.

Maybe, but I think he offers something different.

I don't think it'll matter for Southgate because he has always seemed set that Maddison isn't going to play a big role for him so he'll find reasons to pick others, but for me Maddison seems to have extra composure and ability to find a pass. At the expense of some other qualities maybe, but I'd back him to find a pass before anyone else and for that reason he seems an absolutely ideal player to take and have on a bench to turn a game, or even kill a game off when there are spaces.

Rangnick really does an outstanding job with Austria.

Completely outplayed Germany a few months ago and now demolished Turkey 6-1 with some great football.

This match illustrates the issue I have with Wirtz and Musiala starting on the wing, it makes us very narrow and much easier to defend against if the opponet plays 3 at the back. There was such a big difference when Fuhrich came on and actually played like a winger with Raum. The defense was completely exposed with Raum and Fuhrich going wide, it stretched the 3 man central defence and therefore gave more room for Muller to operate and play incise passes. Ultimately, we weren't able to score from those openings but the momentum was clearly shifted to us when Fuhrich came on.

Shame it's the last match before June, don't think Nagelsmann will change this formation before the Euros unless something drastic happens, but the lack of width is worrying.

Jude is the greatest English player since when? It's tricky to compare against different positions, but he's already arguably greater than Kane, next up is Rooney?

I don't say "better" because it's quite impossible to judge

it's a soft bait
I’ll take the bait. It’s also pretty stupid to compare against different positions.

What exactly is wrong with Rudiger? Always comes across as a complete knob.
Not a likable person in general if we go by interviews and has some very questionable religious views as well.

He liked some radical islamistic posts a few months ago and then came up with "Oh, I didn't understand the language!" when people noticed it. Just a few days ago he once again posted on Instagram, posing with the Twahid-finger symbol in a carefully staged photo (concerning, since it is THE gesture of ISIS & Co. and not really common amongst moderate muslims; he had to be at least very aware of the controversy).

Let's do the thing where we say we should have listened to him and bought all his transfer ideas again, always a fun topic that doesn't go round in circles at all;)

This Wales game answers that age old question. What happens when a stoppable force meets a moveable object?

I see, I mostly just meant his on field antics though. He always acts so weirdly aggressive and provocative for no apparant reason.

I just hope Nagelsmann will fix it quickly enough. Considering that Nagelsmann talked about a "first 13" I actually think that a striker (Füllkrug instead of Havertz) and a winger (Sane or Führich instead of one of the triple 10s) will play depending on the match.

Nah.

I don't think one has to bring up the United stint while recognizing he does an outstanding job with Austria.
