Internationals March (Euro Qualifiers)

Not true. I would swap out plenty of players at Chelsea. I’m more surprised by the reaction. You lot must think very highly of Shaw.
Shaw is one of the best left backs in the world. Chilwell is not.

I mean, why? Chilwell is great.

It suggests they are no where near the same level and that the decision would not be a close one.

Just find that odd, then again I’ve noticed Shaw is quite underrated in general, probably as he’s been at the club so long and had some mixed runs of form previously.

No, just more highly than I do of the perennially injured Chillwell. This discussion was put to bed years ago when every Chelsea fan and their mother were convinced that Chillwell would keep Shaw out of the Euros team only for Shaw to nail down the spot and be the best LB in the tournament.

Saka is class, don't know why some of you need to spout nonsense just because he plays for Arsenal. He will get better too which is scary. Will definitely end up at City or United in a few years.

When Shaw has a good period this forum will elevate him to the best LB in the world. Only to write him off again when he has a few bad games.

All fanbases can be like that to be fair.

Shaw is having a good season and has been good for England consistently now for a while. Even in major tournaments.

I think most people would have him above Chilwell so it’s probably your view that is the surprising one if I’m honest.

I have to mute Jill Scott. It really is like fingernails down the blackboard.

Greats a bit far, he is literally only in the team because Shaw is suspended.
Given Southgate's historic selection patterns that doesn't exactly weaken the argument for Chilwell

But for what it's worth I'd slightly favour Shaw as a flat back four LB, significantly favour him as LCB in a back three and significantly favour Chilwell as a wingback.

Would like to see Shaw LCB and Chilwell LWB tried out sometime by Southgate.

Just watched that first goal in slow motion there. I could have defended that.

This England team still doesn’t feel as good as the Euros team, still think that’ll end up being our best team for a long while.

If you watch these two players on a consistent basis, how exactly did you arrive at the conclusion that Chilwell is better than Shaw? Very curious to hear your reasons.

I guess I just disagree with that assessment of both players.
I rate Chilwell quite highly, Arsenal fans had a similar view of Shaw as you do with regards to Tierney > Shaw.

Shaw generally is quite underrated, I think he's probably the most technically gifted player United have. Shame his career has been a bit stop start with a leg break, Mourinho happening and then the post pandemic+euro season burn out.

Is it just my eyes, or has Saka been dogshit in these games so far?
Tbf to verminator he did say 'so far' and up until that moment he wasn't exactly doing awesome things.

He of course ended up with a great goal and a good cross/assist.

Oh look, it's @WeePat derailing a thread with his pro-Chelsea schtick for a change. Give it a rest mate, its boring.

This is just you being defensive for no reason. I didn’t say Chilwell is better. I said I wouldn’t swap the two.

I can’t unsee it now..

No need to be aggressive, it was just one post. More so a bunch of United fans replying. I can see why someone who watches more of Chilwell over Shaw would have that view.

I don’t think Chilwell > Shaw. I don’t think I even said that. I just disagreed with the poster who implied that the gap between the two is that massive.

In fairness to him, he made one comment and got smashed on here.
I like Shaw but he can have some right dodgy spells and isnt miles above Chilwell

Maddison should be leaving Leicester in the summer.

He’s definitely got the ability to go up a level or two. Would have him at United.

Commentators, yes we all know how young Bellingham is.
We dont need it mentioned EVERY single time he gets on the ball.

Southgate is gonna be so screwed if kane picks up a knock and he hasn't tried or used any other striker to see how they can do

Pickford just has to be involved doesn’t he. Taking that ball out wide and kicking it into touch, completely unnecessary. Just stay in your box and do the easy thing your side-partinged clown
