Internationals March (Euro Qualifiers)

We've been pretty poor to be honest. Still in the World Cup slump it seems.

Agree. We've been playing with fire for the entirety of the second half, and do not deserve to win. Still, there is no denying that this comeback was instigated by an extremely dodgy penalty call.

Unbelievable remontada. But I can't help think the Danes had it coming. Too much complacency. Nonchalant behavior all over the pitch for the last 20 minutes or so...

Up 2-0, makes a triple change, down 2-3 after 30 min. Mæhle plays for way too long despite being utter trash since before the world cup

However, we would probably have won comfortably if not for the farcical penalty giving them energy and a way back

How is this an actual group based on seedings? So many average and evenly matched teams.

Might get some interesting takes from Danish media tonight, considering the opposition.

We get some really poor results against these Eastern European nations once in a while.

Thank God we have one of the easiest groups out there.

Yeah conceding 3 goals in less than 20 mins after being 2-0 up is a disaster no matter the opponent.

That group is very open, with some room for a surprise team to make the Euro's.

To be honest we were orrible against Finland too, way too much complacency. Lucky with moments of brilliance from Højlund, but way to much shit play

Hjulmand has stuff to deliver on now after failed wc and this.

They used the Nations League positions. A couple of lopsided groups because of this, like Portugal's group and this one.

That's shite. I thought this group was bad but there's actually one with Switzerland, Romania, Kosovo, Israel, Andorra and Belarus.

Not sure. Maybe Kazakhstan will get the Morocco treatment.

What kind of treatment did the Danish media give Morocco? Genuinely curious.

Edit: Nevermind, forgot that shitshow was referring to the Morocco team.

Denmark's group is an outlier still, with Finland being the weakest of the Pot 2 sides. Could have been England or France... Both in pot 2 because of a relatively poor NL tournament.

Denmark have 100% certainly underestimated Kazakhstan when they were ahead 2-0. But Kazakhstan has qualified for group b in the Nations League, which shows that they are not quite as bad as most people think. But the worst result I have seen from Denmark. Especially when you consider that they were 2-0 up. Very harsh judgment that they got a penalty kick. It hits the player on the shoulder, but VAR does nothing. Still, Denmark should win.

Now the Ukrainian war poster boy doing another interview, like we didn’t see this coming!

The Denmark coach is one that struck me as quite poor in the world cup, due to his tactics and bad lineups. He was in that actively hindering their teams group for me alongside the likes of Santos, Moriyasu and Southgate. Page and Martinez too at a stretch though those teams were in decline.

Unfortunately international tournaments are so infrequent that you cannot afford to carry a poor coach when you have good squads. Blink and that generation is gone, like it has with Belgium.

did the media make this much of a fuss when Rooney beat the England scoring record...? Kane's penalty has been shown about 50 times. Also, just for fun, I'd love to know who's top of the chart if penalties are removed (I know they all count, I'd just be interested to see)

Harry Kane – 18
  • Frank Lampard – 9
  • Wayne Rooney – 7
  • Alan Shearer – 6
  • Ron Flowers – 6
  • David Beckham – 5
  • Gary Lineker – 4
  • Geoff Hurst – 4
  • David Platt – 3
  • Tom Finney – 3
  • Alf Ramsey – 3
  • Bobby Charlton – 3
  • Marcus Rashford – 3
  • Allan Clarke – 3
  • Mick Channon – 3
Rooney's top and even Owen has more goals without the pens counted.

Slovenians haven't been at the EURO since 2000. Hope we finally make it, I want to see us at a big competition for once. Been too long.

Yes. They even made a fuss when Rooney won a corner or scored a goal, let alone beating the record.

Early days but I’d be surprised if you didn’t. Obviously a lot of people bemoan the expanded tournaments but it’s great for smaller nations.

That should have been red. Studs up from Maddison. Casemiro would get 10 games for that.
