International Call-up 2016-2017

England U18 vs Poland U18
Thu 10 Nov 19:00, Stevenage

England U18 vs France U18
Mon 14 Nov 19:00, Peterborough.

Full squad:

Good for him, rate this kid, also good to see they have him in there as a midfielder too. As has been said Buffonge is unlucky but I have my doubts as to how extensively they follow players that haven't previously been in the England set up to be honest.

Buffonge is too old for international u18s. Players have to be born after 1-1-99

Josh Doughty called up to Canada U20 to play two friendlies against Honduras (Nov 12 & 14).

Joel Pereira called up to Portugal U21, they play Czech Republic on Friday 11th 17:15 GMT and Netherlands on Tuesday 15th 17:30 GMT.

Tahith Chong called up to the Netherlands U19 squad who travel to Georgia for a Euro qualifying tournament. They face France U19 tomorrow Wed 9th at 08:00 GMT, Spain U19 on Friday 11th at 08:00 and hosts Georgia Monday 14th 11:00 GMT.

Both Henderson and Tuanzebe started for England U20 as they beat Nigeria U20 8-1. Henderson conceded one and was subbed at HT, Axel played the whole 90.

Chong played 70 mins for Netherlands U19 as they drew 1-1 with France. Next match against Spain on Friday.

90 minutes for Williams as CB in England's 2-0 win over Luxembourg.

Tanner not even on the bench for England U18 vs Poland.

Chong came on as a sub at the 81'min as Netherlands U19 lost 1-2 to Spain U19. They play the hosts Georgia on Monday 11:00 GMT.

Williams sent off for two bookings as Eng U19 lose 3-2 to Wales. Poole played the whole match as CB.

Tahith Chong came on (71'min) for Netherlands U19 who beat Georgia U19 1-0. Got around 100 minutes in three matches during this break. Looked the most mature out of the whole U19 Oranje team, which is something for a 16-year old. Makes smart decisions with the ball, tries to make something out of possession, but knows when to play an easy pass and keep the ball.

Tanner played the whole game, ended 0-0 (France won pens 5-4), England won the mini tournament (England, France, Poland).

Mason Greenwood's been called up by England U16s for a tournament at Brazil next week or so. Look like Laird's still being ignored for now.

Joel Pereira starts for Portugal U21 who play Netherlands in 50 minutes.

@jb8521 told me U14 player Mipo Odubeko started for Ireland U15 vs Poland earlier in the day.

With a name like that, what are his roots?

Ireland is starting to see the effects of immigration. Our youth sides are now more multicultural. It can only lead to more talented players. Lots of the English players have African roots.

Sounds like a typical Kilkenny family name, no?

If he didn't score at least 3 I'd be disappointed, been tearing it up this season by all accounts.

Did he use to play for City?
Yeah he was with City last year. He's scored more goals than games played for our u14s and 15s this season. As far as I know the family are Nigerian but he grew up in Dublin and played for Saint Joseph's who are bringing through some really good players in the past few years in particular and have 4 other lads in that Ireland u15s squad and a couple more who used to play for them.

Cheers, googled him and just saw a tweet from Saint Joseph's a year ago wishing him luck and saying he plays for City. Any chance of England trying to take him then?

DJ Buffonge has been called up to (hold your breath) the Antigua & Barbuda U20s for this month's CONCACAF U20s Championship.

Well, they’ll play in the World Cup soon with 152 nations going through to the finals :p

Lee O'Connor away with Ireland this week as well so will be a bit of a weakened team against Newcastle on Friday night without O'Connor, Gomes, Buffonge and Chong at least. Good job we have so much depth this season

So is he with United now then?

Sorry I'm confused!
