Inter`s owners own another Chinese club which they closed till further notice to cut costs. Their debt is generally high and COVID has hit Inter badly. They`re yet to finish payment to Madrid for Hakimi as well and Lukaku`s deal was structured to be paid over 5 years with bonuses indeed included the story of that clause on top of Inter being unable to pay up isn`t unrealistic.
The paper may be questionable but the financial aspects of this are as real as it can get

Yeah just like in any other transfer, biggest challenge is always agreeing fee with the club.
Unfortunately Inter are in the same boat with Real and Hakimi as they are with us, they haven't paid Real a penny for Hakimi yet, and they've missed a payment already...

Cash flow is king in this market. This has nothing to do with wanting their players. That 50m up front could be very useful this summer.
