I'd say Zlatan if he had not done his ACL.
I dont think people are underestimating martial as a footballer but more for how he has played as a striker. He just isnt as sharp. You rightly said in physicality Saha tops him but that is so essential when leading the line of the attack,. I have seen many times Martial get bullied off the ball or not being able to get his first touch right because of pressure from defenders and this is something Saha excelled in, always occupying the defenders and holding them off , I actually think finishing wise they are on the same level but to get into those position where u have those chances to score, the awareness of knowing whats around you and the movement to get into those spaces he falls short in comparison to Saha there as well,. The glaring obvious fact is Martial is not a natural striker he is winger by trade , whereas Saha started out as a striker which obviously gives him a head start. In Saha’s best 2 seasons for us he scored 15 and 13 goals. In Martial’s best 2 seasons, he scored 23 and 17 goals. Overall, Saha scored 42 goals for us in 124 games compared to Martial’s 85 in 283 (bear in mind, Martial spent years playing wide). Saha was better physically but in terms of all round game, I’d give the edge to Martial. Either way, it’s pure romanticism to pretend that Saha was much better and typical of this forum (not just you) to reduce Martial’s impact to this extent.
Ben Thornley worth a shout too.
it is true, because their shares each carry 10x the voting rights of shares owned by anybody outside the family.
Saha miles better than Martial, that’s for sure. He had it all.
Why is this debate? Saha every day
Saha.
Saha would have been a special player.
Saha was so good Fergie let Ruud go.
Sorry but the overrating of Saha is mind blowing. This is a player who only managed to score more than 10 league goals in a season three times in his whole career and one of those was in the championship. This was a man who couldn’t finish a one on one with a keeper to save his damn life. Fergie even implied at one point that his injury issues were mainly in his head. He was a good foil for Rooney, a good player but the overrating of him is a different level.Saha and it’s not even close. He was so good.
No he didn’t, Ruud issues with Ronaldo and Fergie did. Also Saha was a better partner for Rooney, he wasn’t even in the same league as Ruud. Give your head a wobble.Saha kicked Ruud Van Nistelrooy out of our team.
Do you think Martial would ever kick someone at the quality of Van Nistelrooy out of our team? No Chance.
Saha was much better than Martial now.
The real question should be would R9 have been the greatest player ever? Yes.

Drogba was hardly prolific and he's one of the best strikers that played in the prem.
He was the reason I fell in love with football. I’ve never been so mesmerised by a players talent like I was with him. Even in his heavier days. The game was effortless to him. He was like a cheat code striker.Yea I remember as a teenager he was practically unstoppable. If he avoided injuries and didn't become overweight he very possibly could have been the greatest
What do you mean? Rooney was better partnered with someone who wasn’t an out and out striker like Ruud. Do you think Saha was a better striker or player than Ruud as per the post I was replying to?Why was that then?
