No. Fantastic player but he's declining and not what we need right now.

More chance of Rodgers not thinking he's the next Shankly, than Iniesta at united.

Yep. Done deal. My sources say he wants the move, we want the move, that guy from the Halifax wants the move.

Inestaying? Not a chance.

It seems close both Barcelona want Fellaini in the deal so...it won't happen

joking

He's the wrong side of 30 now, we should be looking at players approaching their peak, not leaving it. He's also an attacking midfielder who can also play from wide. We've already got Mata and Januzaj filling that role while you'd imagine Rooney is also going to be spending time there with Van Persie up top. There's no way he should be a priority for us. The priority is a goal scoring wide forward, another top class midfielder and centreback.

Of course he isn't coming. But at least we can believe that his admiration for our manager is shared by our own players.

Are people honestly saying he's "declining"....?

He's just turned 30 and is an attacking midfielder who doesn't rely on pace. He's an absolute genius and one of the absolute best player in the world who would walk in to any starting 11 with ease.

Even if he was declining he'd still be twice the midfielder of most around at the moment.

@lalloyd

Is not a current United player so does not belong in the United forum.

please save fantasy threads for the transfer forum

Think he's worth more to Barca than to us. He is 30 years old and could do a great job for them in 3-5 more seasons. Cant see why they would want to sell him.

Herrera Carrick
Adnan Iniesta Mata
vanPersie

Hold me.

Absolutely not. Just because a player talks in glowing terms about another manager doesn't mean a deal is plausible.

Absolutely not. It's like Scholes or Giggs leaving United for Barca 15 years ago

Great news! What shirt number will he get?

The money required to sign him would be better spent on finding a player to control our games. You can have the top 4 best attacking midfielders in the world but if there is nobody controlling the pace of the game and retaining the ball, you're shafted.

I can't believe people think this is beyond Iniesta's capabilities. You can't compare him to someone like Mata or Kagawa because he's been a top class centre mid as well as being a top class attacking midfielder.

Brwned in thread. It's on.

He's played much more as a centre midfielder in a midfield three than as a pure attacking midfielder for Barcelona. Even for Spain he is often forced out wide rather than played as an AM because their wingers have been of such poor quality. He hasn't played AM this entire season, I've not seen him do so in a couple of years either as they nearly always play the same midfield combination. All matches last season he played as a CM too I believe.

Makes totally sense, Xavi is leaving, Fabregas left and now they will sell Iniesta to us, exactly
