For 2 Crores you can't get a flat big enough to fit a double bed in a decent area of Mumbai.
50 lakhs is certainly enough to buy a good flat in major metros. But if some one looks chooses for a posh locality with inbuilt pools, shopping complexes and other silly articrafts the amount could easily multiply.
Even some Indian banks are offering flat loans that scales up to 1 crore these days and with loads of people utilizing them for tax exemptions.
I don't know about pools and stuff. Mumbai's shithole anyway, so I would not live there even for free.

All this talk of cash awards is silly. They should be reserved for athletes who need them. The bugger's fecking rich anyway. A newspaper was reporting his father was building a 200 Cr (50Mn. USD) hotel.
I agree that athletes who need the money should be given money but this guy deserves all that he is getting right now. Just because he is rich doesnt mean he shouldnt be given it. He has worked hard for it and is worth every penny.
