Strange time to bring this up. There's been a lot of Test cricket over the last 6 months or so and almost all of it has been awesome. IPL is what, 4 weeks long? T20 WC is every 2 years, dunno, maybe I'm wrong there? And look at the tour schedules, 3-4 tests, an ODI series and maybe 1-2 T20s. Things aren't as bad you're making them out to be.

I agree. The way I see it is T20 attracts the money, crowds, and players. Then the new players grow up learning those skills long term wise, which can only be bad for pure cricket.

Its already taken hold to me and I don't see it dying down. Pak have always had a lot of all rounders but the test side is full of them now and its awful compared to what it used to be. The T20 team is one of the best around whilst the test team is shite. Can't even get a game anyway.

Anyway the T20 WC this year is in England. And there is a T20 Champs league to come soon as well.

Its not the public life you little sod, almost all these cricketers don't have the quality to compete beyond a certain level. Dearth in the quality of bowlers, doctored pitches and other shite has puffed them beyond their actual worth....20/20 has only made things more worse.

20-20 is basically a mafia clique organized by inflated businees men and Indian politicians to rob money and muppets like you usually wank over that.

I dont mind paying money to watch 20-20 version if the likes of Richards, Tendulkar, Lara or Gilchirst play in there, but not these tossers who cannot drive the ball straight.

First you say these players you listed are 'everything that is wrong with Indian cricket', then you say you meant they(Gambhir included with an average of 50 since he's been a regular in the side) don't have the quality to play for India.

Just what kind of players should play for India?

Well stato, Averages count for nothing these days, Pietersen for instance has a better ODI average than Richards by your logic, he should be better than King himself....Some players currently projected the superstars of Indian cricket team, cannot even bat straight all gully cricketers, had they broke through a decade back they would've hardly been in the reckoning.

IPL has done nothing much to improve the quality of cricket apart from glorifying more bits and pieces cricketers and skinning the last penny out of the clueless Indian public.

Is it just me who thinks that it is the influence of these shorter versions that test cricket has become more result oriented than ever before?
 
Rehman winning the academy awards might be the best thing thats happened to Cricket. Most of the Sania Mirza fans who follow IPL will switch to music for a year or more and Cricket takes the back seat for now. Its called the Sania Mirza effect of bandwagon jumpers.
 
BCCI to facilitate Rahman with a prize money of whooping 10 lakh rupees...
