Indian League whatiscalled.

When is the start date again?

Is it worth keeping track of?

icl is fecking wank with retired players playing FFS

i have not watched a fecking ball being bowled yet in that.

i wont watch it even if i was being paid to watch it.

Will it screw up Test/international cricket? Apparently it's already raked in around £1 - 2 billion before a ball has been bowled. That's more serious than AIDS.

Not now maybe. But kids will definitely get influenced by the amount of money thats up for offer in 20-20. So don't expect any future generations of Bradman's and Tendulkar's. Everyone is going to want to be a Dhoni/Afridi. And that can't be good news.

wont comment on afridi, but dhoni has matured into a brilliant one day player.. a true finisher, ala bevan. and a very good start as a captain too..

He is no Bradman or Tendulkar though, is he? Twenty twenty is the worst thing that could've happened to cricket. Honestly, I don't understand the fuss about 20/20 and one dayers. Test cricket is far more interesting.

The IPL should be a bit of fun...go Hyderabad

VVS Laxman (Capt)

Andrew Symonds
Herschelle Gibbs
Shahid Afridi
Scott Styris
Adam Gilchrist
Rohit Sharma
Chamara Silva
RP Singh
Chaminda Vaas
Nuwan Zoysa

the only thing I don't understand is how Laxman would be automatic choice in that side. Some real big hitters in there. At least 5 better 20-20 batsmen than Laxman in that list, surely. Symonds, Gibbs, Afridi, Gilchrist, Sharma.

Problem is, your in a HUGE minority

 Bangalore Royal Challengers vs Kolkata Knight Riders

They should ban cricket in India. Will do good for cricket as a whole and India.

It will kill the sport for the test match lovers, but it may reach out for the many people that haven't been intrested in cricket thus far, which is ALOT of people.
It's a fecking circus. Spotlights on the captain for the toss...feck off.

We are Chennai Chennai Soooper Gings, We waer yelllllow jaarsey while we're playing...

Dhoni transforming into a lion was a particularly nice touch...

feck off ;)

I saw the 'show' for 30 minutes. Cricket's going to die very soon.

Liked the reception Sachin got, though.

last night i watched one of the games and it was pretty interesting (dry and dusty wicket) the thing that ive noticed the most is that every second indian is gay i think.

:lol:What made you notice that?

The dancing... not really the dancing in general... but the way alot of them dance... not just the boy cheereleaders but some of the fairies in the crowd as well. They move as if they are grinding up against another man.

I'm up for this. In the sense of watching it... no-one's asked me to play as yet.

Got to be more exciting than the county championship

To be fair, a game of checkers with your old grandma would be more interesting than the county championship.

I'm afraid this is going to change cricket forever, and not necessarily in a good way.The amount of money in it now is hard to believe now.

ICL is where the Twenty20 purists go.

IPL is for Johnny-come-lately upstarts who don't understand the beautiful intricacies and traditions of Twenty20, and only watch it for dancing girls.

Well, the IPL has achieved what it has set out to do. I am not the biggest cricket lover by any stretch of imagination, however a glitzy event like this sure has excited me and gotten me watching the odd-match...nothing wrong with sport being entertaining IMO

Those of us who follow ICL don't need the hype, the celebrities, the Bollywood screech-fests, and the lycra clad rent-a-slappers to distract us from the action.

We're Twenty20 purists who are content simply to enjoy the unique rhythms and poetry of the Twenty20 game, as played out by top drawer cricketers such as Chris Harris, Ian Harvey, Manoj Tiwary and Rohan Gavaskar.

Just looked it up on wikipedia....sounds boring as fcuk! Can't believe I didn't even notice it till now...IPL all the way, might be just me, but I need the glitz, glamour.....and coverage!!
