mehro said:so Karthik is playing as a pure batsman for us now? is a dhoni a better keeper? i haven't seen karthik keep.
Red-Indian said:Its also puzzled me (especially in the last game with a couple of slip catched being dropped) why the second wicketkeeper doesn't field at slip. Given that he's a wicketkeeper by trade, shouldn't slip be a reasonably natural position for him?
Sultan said:I kept wicket myself, catching techniques are completely different with gloves.
The slips are the domain of the old, fat and slow.
mehro said:did you watch the game today? did powar impress? i've never really liked him. and how come sreesanth didn't play today?
we don't seem to be anywhere close to settling on our best eleven. with yuvraj coming back will gambhir be dropped or karthik?
mehro said:you did? can we see some pictures of you in your whites then?
mehro said:what do you have against india?
Rona1do said:Nothing.
I love India and Indians.....there is a fairly sizeable community in Zimbabwe with their own 'Little India' in the surburb of Belvedere in Harare, where the main street is known as The Ganges.
Just that WI and England are my adopted favourite international cricket sides. The former it is a racial thing I guess, the later....well...the mind boggles because we are supposed to dislike our former colonisers. South Africa, arrogant neighbours and all, are my third favourite team followed by India.
Pakistan and Australia I dislike passionately.
New Zealand, I am a little ambivalent there.
My own beloved Zimbabwe is now completely hopeless because politics connived to destroy a side that was fairly competitive. Now they are probably worse than Kenya.
Nice day.
mehro said:who dropped those catches? dravid and sehwag usually stand at slips and are pretty decent there.
Kiwi_fan said:The demise of Zimbabwean cricket is depressing. You guys were starting to form a competitive team with a backbone of very good cricketers, (Olonga, Flower brothers, Heath Streak, Taibu, Campbell, and even Blignaut was a fine batsman on his day), and in a couple more years of development would have been able to hold your own against the likes of WI, SL and Pakistan and India at home. I still remember as a NZ supporter our first ODI series loss to you, and thinking that you were destined to become a formidable force in ODI cricket. Yet your team was torn apart just as this was happening, and now unfortunatley you will not recover unless something is done to the management of your cricket.

Dhoni is one of those player who has that something special about them. He can really tear apart teams and wins games. Problem is i think we've overhyped the latter ridiculously.
He has. You wouldnt have believed the hyped over him a few months back. Its just calmed down a bit after hes had a bit of a stutter. What we need though to be a top side is Pathan to return to form.Rona1do said:No. You haven't.
Dhoni is a class act IMO.
Red-Indian said:It was like watching a train crash in slow motion 7 wickets for 30 odd runs... pathetic.
