India vs Lanka ODIs

India deserved the win

Our bowling was rubbish and chasing 350 is always going to be tough.

Hope they do better in the other matches.

Your Sri Lankan?
Couldnt see our batting, although we were all constantly on the Fm in college. The legend has returned.

Ok.
It was also Sachins idea to send Pathan out at number 3. Worked like magic.

It was a class performance, best I have seen for quite some time...

TBH i thought his career was over, still dont know wheather he will ever be the same player, but having him around is always a plus for a side that was in need of some confidence. Kartik and Bhajji were always quite amazing, which was a surprise. And speculation has already begun about wheather Pathan can become the allrounder Indias been looking for. Quite a talent he is.

yes I am.

Couldn't see this match, but hopefully will be seeing the next one.

Can't believe pathan batted so well, it shows that our bowling was shite.

Nah hes actually pretty talented with the bat. He has all the makings of becoming one of the top allrounders in the future, as long as he keeps working on his batting.

What a shite batting performance that was, an all too similar collapse.

Are you the new India?;)

Very poor batting, I agree.I somehow fail to see how a line-up like that couldn't deliver.

Tendulkar smacks two boundaries as I say that.I hate that Farvez fecking Maharoof.

Again a very good performance, Sachin was great, but Pathan made it happen. Fabulous opening spell.. and even better news, Ganguly not picked for the next few Odi's.

So now that Tendulkar is back and Ganguly seems to be out, what do you think the teams will be for the ODIs and tests against England?

Irrespective of Sachin/Ganguly, there is no way we will lose to England in Tests at home.
Onedayers would be close if England are in good form.

True, losing the tests to England would be very very unlikely, especially if we stay clear of controversies like we are right now. Anything can happen in ODIs.

Ooops misunderstood your Question, in tests I think there is a good chance that ganguly will be back along with laxman while bowling will be the same.
In Onedayers, Kaif will play instead of Venugopal

Honestly dont know what the feck that Venugopal chap is doing, seems to have nothing to offer at all.

I think you're underestimating England. So what will the full lineup look like?

Not really. Its just that India losing a test series at home is something that happens once in a long while. And very improbable if the team is focused.

Even this great Australian side lost here twice, before finally beating us, which IMO wouldnt have happened had all the controversies not taken place, and had we not given the Aussies green tops to bowl at us on. Not saying its impossible, but us losing doesnt look likely.

As for Line-ups, tests i expect something like this:
Gambhir
Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Laxman/Ganguly(prob the first)
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Pathan
Bhajji
Kumble/Kartik
Zaheer/ Nehra/ Agarkar/ Sreesanth(The pace partner to Pathan is up for grabs ATM so it could be anyone)

Kaif will be in for the ODI's, as will JP Yadav. And a few young batsman(eg. Raina) will be in with a shout. Obviously Indian cricket is going through a transition and things could change.

Spot on Amol...the weakest part of the team is the second seamer position, Dhoni is a breath of fresh air, best W/K batsman since F. Engineer.

Im not conviced of Dhoni, he's a great shot player but I dont think he will be able to withstand England's pace attack during the tests.

Just seem to think he has that confident streak about him, not had much experience at test level...surely India will not produce fast tracks, that would really be playing to England's strengths.

Like we did against Australia in the spirit of sportsmanship
Like the other countries make neutral pitches when we visit them.

Yup, that was one of the strangest things iv seen in cricket.. Your playing the best team in the world and preparing tracks to suit them and expose your own weaknesses.

Really is the biggest problem. Not that theres a lack of talent - Nehra when fit(hes our louis Saha) is a fine bowler, Zaheer used to be great but seems to be mentally not up to it.. Balaji hasnt been around for a long time, Agarkar has been around for too long without showing consistancy. Now wev got this chap Sree santh. In Pathan one half is solved, hes got everything one could want from an opening bowler, just wish we had someone with raw pace, that really would compliment Pathan.

Dhoni's great, a little arrogant at times, but has the talent to be a genuine batsman. I dont think hel have a problem against pace, because of his attacking nature, just needs to work on his concentration.

Wayyyyyyyh...what a performance, World record 183 for a wicket keeper in a one day international.

well done guys, great batting performance by Dhoni.

He simply tore apart our bowling attack.

Hehehe..bless the flat pitches and small gorunds.

What's wrong with you today moaning...you're becoming like our matchday supporters in the United forum. ;)

Unbelievable stuff from Dhoni. Really is some find for us.
