2 tests and 3 ODIs.

Day 1 ends with India well in control.

WI bowled out for 234. India 37/0.

Shami seems to have made an excellent debut.

India unearthing some good bowlers, recently.

I give it two years until our coaches ruin Shami completely.

I think Sammy is becoming the elephant in the room for West Indies, seems like a great bloke and a good captain, but what's he doing at 7?

West Indies threw the first innings away tbh.

Sachin's decision was horrendous. Kohli was out.

I wouldn't say horrendous, tbf. From the side angle, yes, but looking straight, it hit on the back leg..

Decent session from us.

Rohit's going to be a huge batsman for us, imo.

Get the feck in Rohit.

After defending him for so long, feeling very pleased that he has played such an awesome innings.

...but can he do it on a wet night in Stoke... err, sorry that is for Messi... I will go again. ...but can he do it in test in Australia/SA/England?

Going by his average of 26 in 15 matches in Australia and 9.80 in 5 matches in SA, you'd have to say no, for now.

He can easily.

As Zing said, he'll be brilliant for us.

It's strange...I can see the talent, I'm sure he'll end with a decent career, but I want him to flop massively. I want this whole bunch of flashy T20 specialists to flop. This new generation of Indian cricketers, the BCCI, the wickets, is pushing me away from the game at a rather alarming rate.

The averages are misleading, Donaldo. He probably averages about the same in Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Pujara and Rohit are the most likely out of the current lot to cut it away from home.

He's got insane first class numbers. This is his real game. The previous selection committees threw him into ODIs on the back of his first class performance, and when he failed there, they didn't select him for tests.

That's the thing with Rohit, when he's on song you can't think of anything he can't do, before he goes ahead and throws it all away. Hopefully he doesn't after this.

Think we should think of declaring around 400.

Well he looked the most pathetic excuse for a player I'd ever seen all of last year. Happy he's playing well now, he can be quite destructive.

 My views are on similar lines but not as extreme as to want them to flop. I mean, I don't see Rohit being a 'great' batsman for India. I doubt he will do well abroad against challenging bowlers on unfamiliar pitches. That remains to be seen, but I don't really rate them and their so called achievements unless they are against quality atttack. It is not Rohit's fault that he is scoring tons agianst a shit Australian bowling and average West Indian bowling on Indian pitches, however, he can't be compared to any of the greats or hoped to match them unless he comes out shining against better attacks.

He is possibly our best batsmen when facing the short ball. Which is a good sign.

Well, it is not only short ball but movement which needs to be tackled abroad and I see only Pujara out of current crop to have technique to counter it. Kohli would as well through his sheer grit.

The same happening to me.

But I think there's hope in the likes of Pujara and Rohit who are old school in their batting. Apart from temperament I genuinely don't think Rohit's batting has any flaws.

I don't think Kohli has a lot of grit. He is competitive, but he can't knuckle down. He looks restless when defending.

If anything, Rohit is the least "flashy T20 specialist" in the current crop of players bar Pujara.

Heh, that's exactly how I feel. I feel the game is pretty dead in my eyes these days.

As for this series, I honestly give I feck about it apart from watching the great man, no matter what he does, bat for the last few times. It's been a pleasure to follow his career which has brought more happiness than any sportsman could do.

It was clearly missing even from the front on view. It was straight but looked way too high to give out. Terrible decision.

I'd like to we kohli face genuinely high quality attacks in bowler friendly conditions. Apart from mauling bowlers in series' where some Austrialian nobodies smash ridiculous centuries, I'm not convinced by him.

That's the issue with the game. There's no value on anything. Everything is slowly resembling t20 cricket with batting looking piss easy and bowlers just there to be battered.

He's already being compared to Tendulkar ffs.

Don't you know scoring runs against the likes of Malinga on dead batting tracks is the same as playing Donald, McGrath, Wasim and Murali in more equal conditions?

It's pathetic and seriously grates me. Stuff your t20 up your bumholes you gullible lot.

I just want to give sachin a big hug.[/gayness off]

Didn't some Aaron finch fella smash a quick hundred in that series? It was a laughable series really, icc needs to step in.

Even Malinga is one of the better bowlers around, that tells a lot.

Seriously, its as if all these cnuts werent around in Sachin's time to see the difference.

Epsnstar are really going into overdrive with the sachin farewell stuff and although it comes across as cringeworthy at times, I can't help but get sucked into it all. It's hard to articulate the influence he's had over me growing up. I don't know a single sportsman on whom that much pressure and hopes were pinned so singularly with those around him just being just a bit shit, who then performs so brilliantly, and on top of that carries hiself throughout with such graces and class.

Yup, everyone including him knew that the game ended with his dismissal. Millions in our cricket crazy nation watching on, can only imagine the pressure. As you said, such a brilliant man to add to everything.

That's the thing. In cricketing terms, he was ferocious. I'll never forget those he completely ripped Shane warne apart after a summer of hyping up of that battle, and the time when he basis ally took his frustration out against he Zimbabwean attack because h got out in the previous match on a no ball and then on the very next ball, and jades made fun of that whic hurt his ego. But in terms of behavior as an individual he was pure class. I have no idea how Somone facing that sort of pressure and adulation can remain so "normal".
