The fact that there aren't many, if any bowlers in the world who can bowl well over 150kmph? Had he been average, they would've discarded him by now. Must admit, I love watching him bowl. Proper box office.
Seems we are again to have to wait for a coach and Dhoni will have the added pressure of test captaincy to contend with. Good win the first ODI, but have to raise our game in the next few matches. Was not that great a performance and Pakistan were also way below average.
Shoaib should be allowed to bowl purely because of the talent that he has. Pure entertainment when he bowls, every ball is an event. Even though he was clearly not match-fit in the first game, he was by far Pakistan's and arguably the most threatening bowler on both sides. He has done a lot of shit....the drugs, the 'faking injury', the Asif incident....but I do love watching him charging in and bowling.

As much as people think it may be morally-wrong or how he effects the squad with his attitude he is still one of the best bowlers around and as Spoonez said quite fast! I knew all along he would come back as soon as possible after the suspension for the Asif incident. Don't get me wrong though he does act like a cnut sometimes but sometimes you gotta' take the bad with the good.
Just take a look at the Pak bowling attack, it is pretty much in its youth with Asif and Gul, infact much of the whole team is but maybe I'm using the wrong word when saying youth, what I'm really getting at is experience. Shoaib is by far our most experience current strike bowler - we need him - as the recent loss to SA pointed out. (His first match back and last one of that tour he came back and lead the attack taking 4 wickets in the ODI)
Plus Asif is injured at the moment and I'm not sure he'll play against India until the test matches start.
Next match - Thursday.

I don't like Dhoni as a captain. I'm not sure what he's doing wrong as I haven't seen most of the games but I just don't like him leading our team. I don't think he has the mettle. And if Sehwag is going to play then he has to open. And the playing eleven looks very wrong without Dravid's name in it.

Dhoni is a breath of freah air, it will obviously take time to gain experience, but the younger guys revel playing under the relaxed regime of Dhoni.
To be fair to the great man, Dravid has his day in the one day format. Sehwag is someone I can't decide on, I'd love to see one of the youngsters given a chance, but you do need some experience, and he and Sachin provides that in abubdance.
Sehwag is done as a one day player. He has a huge weakness against the short ball and that has been exploited to death by opposition bowlers. I'd prefer yuvraj as captain over Dhoni but our choices in that department are rather scarce right now.
Yuvi is a good shout, he's been my favourite player for a few years now. A definite future captain - in fact he would not be a bad choice for the vacant test captains job.
The trouble with us speculating future captains is knowing players characters.
Yeah I agree with that. Although I'm not totally against Sehwag getting a few games right now. As we have seen in the past with Zaheer, Ganguly and Bhaji once the players have been dropped they tend to perform if they're given a second chance.
Yuvi any day over Dhoni for ODIs.I don't either of them are ready for Tests yet. yuvi's never even held a permanent spot in the test team so I don't see him getting it. As of now it looks like it'll have to Kumble.
Exactly. The spotlight and pressure once you become captain of the indian cricket team is insane. We won't know how players will react until they are given the job. Michael Vaughan for eg. wasn't really future captain material under hussein but he has reallly blossomed into a top test captain for the english.
