Which Dutch player you'd like to see at the club ?

Daley Blind and Vlaar have been the standout players for Holland this competition and I would welcome both signings. Robben has been their best player of the tournament but in a defensive capacity I would pick these two, Blind has been very versatile and it would help provide cover to the LB position and he can also play as a CDM and would be an improvement on Cleverley and Felliani.

He also signed Braafheid and almost all the guys on the list would be Braafheid type signings.
 
I voted for loads of them!

De Vrij and Vlaar have been among the best CBs at the World Cup, would make a solid partnership for us and are both better than anything we currently have after Rio and Vidic have departed (obviously would prefer Hummels)

Blind would be great cover at both LB and midfield

De Jong would fit well into a midfield three with Herrera and Mata giving us excellent balance at a reasonable price (obviously would prefer Vidal)

Depay looks an exciting young modern winger who would add pace and directness to our attack (obviously would prefer di Maria)
 
Id take a couple of the younger ones on the cheap as squad players.

Would be good to have a few players in the squad that understand Van Gal's systems etc
 
How come Wijnaldum's not an option? Not heavily enough linked to us? I though he finished the tournament with 3 excellent performances and considering his relative inexperience as a proper CM, there's probably a lot more to come from him in that role.
 
I'd take Clasie and de Jong if we don't include Robben here.

He always seem really ordinary to me.
 
De vrij, blind and depay are only ones I can see arriving but don't expect us to sign all 3. Worth noting as well that van gaal called up a lot of youngsters during qualifying who weren't in the World Cup squad and it's possible he might sign one or two of those if they made a good impression. They might not have been ready this summer but he is probably looking to be at utd for two or three seasons so he will be looking for potential as well.
 
None of them really. It's not the best time to be buying up swathes of Dutch players, this lot are not a vintage crop.

Good enough to finish third in the World Cup.

They have a great team spirit and exciting style of play so I suppose we should be pleased with our first signing in VDG. I think many if not all could handle any Premiership teams.
 
Who are the biggest talents, btw outside of the dutch national team right now ?

Have heard and seen little bits of likes of Vilhena, Broetius, Kishna, Kongolo, Veltman etc.... Maher was impressive last summer but understand he's gone off the boil a bit.

Stuivenberg has worked with almost all of them for a while, so will be interesting if we sign one of those types of talents as well.
 
Everyone on the dutch team looked very capable, even players we know are not very good, so I don't wanna comment as it would be based off this world cup - hard to tell me given how the dutch played
 
Blind was nothing but average all tournament apart the first match against spain where he made two great passes and everybody masturbates about him. As fullback hes too slow has about the same technique as Phil Jones, not as good defensively as his fans think, hes outribbled often, give away fauls, should have been penalty on oscar yesterday easily... as CDM he represents everything what we hate about cleverley, he made about zero passes forward, too slow and isnt any good for manchester United. He wouldnt be much better than Sheasy who was much better defensively and I often didnt like him playing CDM or even at RB when we had arguably better options.. We dont need another squad player, that is what he is. Cleverley is certainly more talented and boosting his confidence he could be much better option than Blind, and if van Gaal wants he could turn him into a fullback cover even tho we ve got right hand side covered... FFS Blind is Newcastle level player and if he was 20 I wouldnt say a thing..

I kinda grow fond of de Vrij even tho I think we already got two similar CBs (Evans and Keane) but if we need another CB for a good price we shouldn't wait any longer and get him. But Im okay with 4 CB for next season(neither Smalling nor Jones playing on the "flanks" and focusing and cementing their CB positions) Carrick can be a solid ball playing backup at CB in the worst case scenario..

Depay is a great talent but wouldnt obviously bring immidiate succes, we have got Zaha, Januzaj, maybe Lingard and Powell who will need minutes even tho if two of them are loaned and Young, Nani sold, they could get some game time, but it would have been really an unexperienced side. But no matter he's worth the risk and van Gaal is the right man to help him in his developement so YES.

deJong is a fighter we need fighters and more aggresivenes but is he the level of United? Not sure how good he could be but could go for cheap and solve some immidiate problem with CDM. We only have carrick whose capable but hes too slow and opposite to dynamic so de Jong could be a good alternate option.

I like that little man Clasie hes got a pass in him and likes to win the ball back. Not sure of how much better improvement he would be to cleverley but atleast he showed some confidence. I think van Gaal rates him but not sure why he didnt play in the earlier stages. I assume he could have some minor injury but it is a speculation only..

I qould add to that list Wijnaldum, he was quite decent and could another Dembelé.. Altho I think he will end up eventually in Premier League it won´t be us going for him. He could do well for Southampton..

Still we need to wait for the players who go out, we have got a big squad and will play less matches than usual. It won´t be easy to say bye darren fletcher or to fellaini after one season, getting rid of Young with his wages, same with anderson but I think there is always a room for talented player of high potential like Depay and he dont have to be neccesarily bad right in his first season, he certainly is more developped than Januzaj at least physically but he will get the sticker "One for the future" now from the fans who would rather see someone like di Maria and Sanchez before, who are obviously better players now, but Januzaj came into the side and made the difference.. so I would be satisfied with Depay and de Vrij wouldn't be a bad call neither

Based on last season I think there are more than 1 that could get into our starting 11.
 
Wouldnt mind any one of De Vrij, Blind and Vlaar. Would also take Clasie and De Jong.
 
Strootman and that's it. There's no point saying Robben.

De Jong isn't a bad player, but he left the berties because he didn't want to sit on the bench, which is what he would be doing here, so I can't see that happening.

I'd rather buy a proper out and out LB than Blind as back up. De Vrij is no better than the young CB's we have and the rest simply aren't good enough

De Vrij looked good - very tidy. Blind's versatility is an asset as well. I'd take both of them.
 
Vlaar : Had a great WC but I don't we should be basing on it to see if he'll do any well for us. I wouldn't mind him just to give his some depth if LVG thinks two of Smalling,Evans and Jones can be our 1st choice defense partnership for years to come.

de Vrij : He's a great player who can become a very good player for us but we already have Jones and Smalling who need serious game time to progress. But he'll be my choice if we fail to land our CB targets. He's probably a bit ahead of the two but I don't feel he can a certain started just yet.

Blind : He can be the next O'Shea. Not good enough to be either a first choice LB or a midfielder right now but can provide some versatility and may even improve to become one.

Depay : This is the sort of signing we should be making. He's the best young talent in the Dutch league and is a goalscorer from the wings which we're crying out for. Also a very hard worker which you can see from his build and the goal he scored against Chile. I think LVG can develop him into a superstar.

de Jong : I wouldn't mind singing him if we miss out on Vidal to give us some steal in the middle which we've lacked. Decent overall player.

Sneijder : That ship sailed years ago.

Clasie : He's just a more risk taking Cleverley. Decent player but wouldn't be adding a lot to our our ranks as of yet. His shooting is terrible for someone who gets into good scoring opportunities. Maybe in a few years time but he's not ready yet.



So from all the above , most of the players are potential players who can be first choice in the future but not right now. I feel like only Depay and de Vrij will prove to be very good signings for the time being. The rest can be useful as squad players.
 
It's weird to me that people want to replace the likes of Cleverley and Fletcher with Blind and Clasie, that's moving sideways not improving the team, we need more first 11 type signings. Depay is clearly talented but he'd be competing for game time with Welbeck, Januzaj and maybe one of Lingard, Zaha or Lawrence, so I don't see much point, we have plenty of potential that can grow under LvG already.

Broetius is probably the best young talent in Dutch football after Depay. Maher looked hot and cold after his impressive performances. Kishna looks like a young RVP. I believe he'll end as a striker. Kongolo is rough while Veltman is the exact opposite of Jones. Calm and composed but needs to toughen up.

IMO among the above Broetius and Kishna look serious talents.
 
None of them are good enough. We already have tons of average and poor players on our books. We need real quality.
 
Voted for Depay and Blind.

Depay is a good prospect and he will add to our squad, our current wingers are average at best. Blind will be a decent squad player and will push Shaw for the LB spot.
 
Isn't this like the 3rd or 4th thread asking the same question?

Anyway, seen as Robben's ruled out a move, I'd say 1 or 2 of de Vrij, de Jong, Depay & Blind. With de Jong being the only one who'd be a starter. The rest of the squad, no thanks.
 
outside of Robben, and obviously we already have VP, none of them are too inspiring individually. But collectively they make a good team.

Incredible? Really?

I don't see the likes of City or Chelsea being worried about playing that, nor anyone in Europe if we got back into the CL next year.

Defensively suspect, inexperienced at the highest level, with Rooney out of position on the right (and therefore useless) and Depay being a frustrating, inconsistent young guy on the left...
 
Which of these dutch players can play both CB and LB? That's what we would need if we fail to get Hummels. A CB partner to Jones-Smalling-Evans and a back-up for Luke Shaw.

Unfortunately, that's Bruno Martins-Indi - who I think started the WC well and then became more and more of a plank.

I think Boetius won't cut it at top level, although he is a talented player. I just think he's a little too one-dimensional and will face physical difficulties at the highest level.

Kishna could become the real deal if he keeps his act together and stays away from injuries. He's had two nasty injuries already. Both in the knee I think. Another one and he's done. But if he stays away from that and makes wise carreermoves (but with Raiola as his manager that's always a concern) he could definitely end up being another class act along with Depay. Kongolo looks very good too. Will be interesting to see his development the coming years. His brother already went to City though, hopefully he won't be that stupid. That will ruin his carreer like it has ruined so many carreers of young players. No talented player should leave the Eredivisie before 20 at least (22/23 would be even better). I agree with your assessment about Veltman. I'm not sure if he can toughen up. Hopefully Maher will be back on track this season. I still think he has great potential.
 
I only voted for de Vrij and Blind.

We have substantial young talent in defence currently and ideally I'd like to see us target an experienced centre back to fill that void we now have following Vidic and Ferdinand's departures, as well as allowing a smooth transition over the coming years. That being said, de Vrij has impressed more and more as the tournament progressed and was one of the top three centre backs in the tournament IMO. He's the same age as Jones and not much younger than Smalling, but if his quoted price tag of £8M-£10M is legitimate, we would be stupid not to pursue him.

As for Blind, it seems van Gaal wants to streamline the squad to around 20 competent players, with youth players added to those numbers, so adding versatile players - or at least one - who can cover numerous positions and perform adeptly could be vital. There is a necessity for a left back - or someone who can cover there - with Evra leaving, so that only strengthens my belief in signing Blind. Again, a player who will come relatively cheap and also allows us to be flexible tactically, whether LVG adopts a 3-5-2/5-3-2, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Those two strike me as very attainable players and just a few in the Dutch squad good enough for us to target. Memphis Depay is a mercurial talent, but a very raw player and we have enough of those in Januzaj and Zaha (if van Gaal gives him a chance), as well as Nani who continues to frustrate. I'd rather we identify immediate proven quality in a wide position.

Dunno what tournament you were watching but I thought he was pants. We've got enough players that can pass sideways and backwards already.

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

None of our midfielders are as strong on the ball in tight spaces as Wijnaldum is or make them kind of runs into the oppo's box. If you thought he was pants then I wonder how you'd describe De Guzman's performances 'cause Stevie fcuking Wonder could spot the difference in class between 'em. Still; the interesting thing about him is that he didn't look out of place in two World Cup final 4 games in a position which is still rather new to him. His defensive game greatly surprised me as he always struck me as bit of a luxury player back in his winger/AM days. Potentially a very good CM indeed.

Yeah Maher looks top notch and I believe he'll end up deeper. Would be interesting to see how all of them develop. People say there isn't much talent in Dutch football but I believe with a bit of polishing and right decision making about the careers they can challenge at the top level.
