In light of the news today (Amad possibly out for the season, Mainoo, Collyer and Ugarte out (at least for Spurs)) how would you line us up?

Situation is looking pretty dire. I had hope we could bumble our way to a Europa League win, but with this news, all seems to be lost, or does it?

Can we still put out a competitive team? If yes, what is it?

Amorim: “May I say Casemiro, that is a smashing blouse you have on?”

Seems very odd to me, this is a period without intensive training and usually a welcome recovery and we get a load of injuries. Have we been pushing them hard in the break or something?

If all those guys are out, surely he just plays 4231 and we sit and counter (which will likely work against this Spurs team).

Ayden Heaven, isn’t he also a capable DM?
Supposedly fancies himself as a midfielder and was only moved to CB by Arsenal in the last year or two.

I wouldn't have thought he'd be any more ready for PL games there than the youth prospects of our own that have travelled with the squad, though.

Bruno -?
Garnacho - Eriksen

So the ? Could be anyone. Moorehouse, Heaven or even Eriksen deep and Zirkzee 10

Midfield of Bruno and 45 mins each from Casemiro and Eriksen. Front three of Garnacho and Zirkzee behind Hojlund, with one of the kids having to play if they need to come off.

He made the bench in our last game at least, who else was selected?

Amad out for the season is very bad news. Hope it's not as bad as that. Don't suppose we can recall Rashford can we? Thought not.

I figured that was as an LCB option in light of Licha's injury.

I guess nobody really knows, though. Amorim will have his own idea of where he's being used. I don't think many called Dorgu lining up at RWB.

Barry Chuckle

The Monster from Cloverfield
Eamon Holmes
Pogue Mahone

Dorgu
H from Steps
Big Justice
Dalot

Fernandes
Gino D'acmpo

Zirkzee

Hence why I asked if he is also a capable midfielder, as he appears to be more ready at least in terms of physicality and fitness wise than our alternative youth player as it stands.

Yeah, you might have a point physicality-wise, he's a bit lad. Though I do have a distinct memory of Hojlund brushing him aside in preseason like he wasn't there...

Have Sekou Kone at least on the bench. Rate him more than Collyer anyway

for #10 Zirkzee has put himself back in the running with his goal from the position recently. Bruno, Zirkzee and Garnacho will hopefully suffice and now we have Dorgu to try and be Amad-ish from RWB

Eamon Holmes before or after a Jack on the rocks? That’s my only question, very solid team otherwise.

Football games aren't won on paper but we're still capable of putting out a very experienced side with international level players- they simply have to start performing, the manager too, no excuses. We could line up like this:

Onana
Dorgu- Yoro- De Ligt-Maz- Dalot
Casemiro Bruno
Eriksen Hojlund Garnacho

Now that's not an ideal team, however, you should expect at the very least, a level of performance that could snatch a win against a struggling Spurs. If this is another shite performance and heads drop then the toxicity around the club will only get worse.

Experience doesn't cut it if your legs have gone though. Wind the clock back a couple years for Casemiro and Eriksen and it would look a Premier League level line up but in their current state it isn't really.

Get the youth in. I wouldn’t be relying on both Casemiro or Eriksen but they could play a role in some way. Great opportunity to identify some promising youth for the future.

This period might actually be more defining to United’s future than envisioned by most. Amorim just has to get the balance right and be less stubborn on the system.

Onana
Dalot Yoro Maguire Mazraoui Dorgu
Casemiro Eriksen
Garnacho Bruno
Hojlund

Unfortunately that’s the best I can come up with.

Basef on trevrlling squad, i’d expect:
—————————Hojlund—————
—Garnacho————————Dorgu—
————Bruno———Casemiro
Dalot————————————-Mazza
———Yoro-Maguire-De Ligt—————
————————Onana—————————

Actual subs:
Eriksen for Mazza/Dorgu/Dalot(depending on if we lead ot not)
Zirkzee for Hojlund

Contemplating playing Zirkzee instead of Dorgu, but leaving Dorgu out feels wrong, and i don’t think he’ll be used as LWB with current personell.

Onana
Mazraoui - Maguire - De Ligt
Dalot - Bruno - Casemiro - Dorgu
Zirkzee - Garnacho
Hojlund
Second half, bring in Kone for Casemiro, Moorhouse and Chido for 2 out of the front 3. Bruno needs to play at the level he showed vs Liverpool if we are to have any hope of a result here.

What I posted in the Spurs thread. Looking at that midfield makes me worried too, but I’d be hesitant to throw one of the kids in right away. Lets start giving them a lot of minutes though, so maybe Moorhouse or Kone can be starters before the end of the season.

Swap Dalot and Dorgu, Maz and Eriksen with Zirkzee and we win the league.

Jack Moorhouse could definitely come in to midfield alongside Bruno and Eriksen, likewise Haven can play DM, Dan Gore is a possibility, Kone is promising but probably a bit further off as is Mentato and Lacey, obvioulsy there is Chido and Biancheri too, we have a lot of talent going forward in the 9/10 positions and will have to use them, the deeper lying midfield role is more of a concern if Ugarte and Collyer are out for any length of time.... is it too early to throw some of the youngsters in, definitely but has to be better than fielding Casemiro and Eriksen together, we simply don't have the numbers..... maybe Bayindir goes in goal and Onana plays DM

Your post implies we were putting out a competitive team before these revelations, which I would like to suggest is not accurate.
