It definitely wasn't that. From that I remember he was on the bed, his parents were downstairs and he leant under the bed to look and got dragged under. He screamed and his parents ran upstairs but he wasn't there anymore. It dragged him off somewhere in what I think was some alternate world type thing and I can't remember the scene because it's fuzzy in my head I watched it as a kid.
