If you like football and don't like Cristiano Ronaldo you have a hole in your soul

Redeus - why are you so angry?

All comes down to how you want to define 'mesmerising' really. For me it implies something magical and baffling to the senses about a player's style. I think Ronaldo has it, Ronaldinho has it, Zidane, Henry too in a different way (less dribbling but sublime touch at speed). It doesn't mean you're the best...it's quite hard for a defender or holding midfielder to be consistently 'mesmerising', Vieira or Gerrard wouldn't really be described as that, even though they're better than Ron at the moment. Also, some players who do dribble well, like Duff or Figo, aren't really 'mesmerising' - they tend to use power, speed, determination to bustle past their man, again they're both probably better than Ron at the moment in terms of effectiveness but not as beautiful, hypnotic or entrancing to watch.

I think Wise's humiliation at the hands of the young mesmeriser was a bit too much for him Pletch. He has taken it as an insult to mental Cockernees in general.

Redeus is right mind...talk about going overboard

The kid's clearly got a lot of natural ability, and after an average first half of the season he's certainly impressed me of late......particularly when he cuts out the pointless stepovers and looks for the early ball.....but he's only doing it for less that half of a season. And the performance that is earning him rave reviews was against Millwall...

I can see why you're excited by him, but calm down...

the great man himself said that Ronaldo was truly the only player to deserve the comparison to him, even more so than Giggs. i think George Best would know more than anyone else who should be compared to George Best
:nono: Suppoters of the immortals are probably immortals themselves, hence they are better judges than us mortal beings. ;)
