All comes down to how you want to define 'mesmerising' really. For me it implies something magical and baffling to the senses about a player's style. I think Ronaldo has it, Ronaldinho has it, Zidane, Henry too in a different way (less dribbling but sublime touch at speed). It doesn't mean you're the best...it's quite hard for a defender or holding midfielder to be consistently 'mesmerising', Vieira or Gerrard wouldn't really be described as that, even though they're better than Ron at the moment. Also, some players who do dribble well, like Duff or Figo, aren't really 'mesmerising' - they tend to use power, speed, determination to bustle past their man, again they're both probably better than Ron at the moment in terms of effectiveness but not as beautiful, hypnotic or entrancing to watch.
