If Arse Wenger offered to come to Old Trafford(as manager)would you say yes or tell him to go fcuk himself?

Arsene Wenger does come to Old Trafford as manager...about once a year. and we usually tell him to go feck himself.

that's not very helpful is it ;) ok...no, i'd say no!

As Fergie's successor, I'd say yes. It would be in United's interest to have him. He's clearly one of the country's top managers.

Agree to this senario..After Fergie leaves.

I'm not sure whether i'd have Wenger as the next manager.
There is no doubt he has a gift for spooting talent and getting them cheap. But his record for Arsenal isn't that good. Never qualified from the 2nd phase CL. 2 double's, 4 years apart. That to me suggests it takes him a few years to build the team, they peak and then drop off again. This season will tell a lot about Wenger. If Arsenal have a successful season i might change my opinion.

Did anyone see the interview with Dein a few months back. A reporter asked him if Man Utd had approached him for Wenger's services (before Fergie extended) and he was clearly uncomfortable with the question...

He knows how to get the best of his players... But why would he leave Arsenal now ? I think his next challenge will be with the French team (I would have prefered him rather than Santini...), in a few years.

id tell him to feck off and leave my club alone

A French manager at United. It would be absolutely unbearable for Jens <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

They apparantly approached him after the World Cup. I agree it would be the natural progression for him. He's got a group of youngish French players with him at Arsenal. Players who he clearly enjoys working with and will be part of the French National team for the next 10 years.

I can't see him sign for United. I think he'd be a very good manager for us tho. He has made Arsenal play football the way it should be played.

I don't like him tho but then again I probably wouldn't like Fergie if he was manager for Arsenal and not United.

No, no, no, no, NO! <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

Yes, but only if he doesn't bring 6595875554 frenchies to our squad

Exactly! How many British/Irish players does he play on a regular basis?

For me, our strongest 11 would include 7 such players.

At times, 8 or 9! In fact, we could play 10 and still be very good!

10 please explain????

no strikers who are not english so how would you do this and have a very good team?????????

are you mad??????

Carroll
G.neville Wes O'Shea P.Neville
Becks Keano Butt Giggs
Scholes Ruud

So only one non British/Irish :D

Id tell him to go take a running jump, i dont really rate him so we can do better.

Don't think many Arsenal supporters complain about their Frenchies...

Sorry I have forgotten him. With Rio, we can make an all British/Irish team like this:
Carrol
Gary Rio Wes O'Shea
Becks Keano Butt Phillip
Scholes Giggs

Despite Arsene annoying me sometimes, I think he is a decent and intelligent man. And a good manager. Yet I think he would provide far fewer chances for the young players than even is happening now at Old Trafford.

I have nothing against foreign players - it is great to have them in the Premiership as they have made it more interesting and brought different skills sometimes - but I think Arsene would find it too tempting to resist filling the Old Trafford ranks with his favourite French players and assorted foreigners.

I want our youth to be give the chance again. I understand that over the past few years Manchester United have achieved the stature that enables them to attract and buy world class players. That is the chief reason for our youngsters being (as I see it) neglected. O`Shea, Brown and Chadders have been given opportunities but why the hell go out and buy a Forlan when you have a Webber who understands English football and everything that goes with it culturally?

However, I believe with Arsene at the helm, our youngsters would have even less opportunity. As for anybody saying but wouldn`t it be great, we could have Patrick Vieira - no thank you. An arsehole is an arsehole, even if he is a good footballer.

And there has been under Wenger (and was before) a rather dirty, sneaky element to the Arsenal team. I will never forget their behavior in an FA Cup tie against one of Steve Bruce`s teams - Arsenal were plain disgraceful and Arsene has to bear some responsibility.

I presume you mean Sheffield Utd.? That was a case of misunderstanding by one man, Kanu. The Sheff. Utd. goalie kicked the ball out of play while one of their forwards was down on the other end, right after that he got up and didn't need any treatment. Parlour took the throw and was gonna give the ball to Sheff. Utd., Kanu obviously didn't see the player on the ground and must have thought the keeper miskicked the ball out of play. He got to the ball before the Sheff. Utd. player, crossed it for Overmars who scored and Arsenal won 2-1. After the game Arsene Wenger offered Sheff. Utd. a replay even though he had no obligation to do so. Arsenal won the replay 2-1 and went through. Arsene then got a fair play award from FIFA for his gesture.

Some may remember the game on the 8th of may this spring? I think we all saw which team was dirty then. Manutd even refused to give the ball back on one occasion after Arsenal had kicked it out for a Manutd player to get treatment. Van Nistelrooy also punched Ljungberg in the stomach late in the game, Manutd displayed what sore losers they are.

As for the bit about Wenger not giving youth a chance may I remind you of Vieira (was 20 when Wenger started playing him regularly), Anelka (18), Matthew Upson, Ashley Cole and now Kolo Toure, Aliadiere and to a lesser extent Jermaine Pennant.

He is a good manager,,,, not better then Fergie, when Fergie retires then yes, because he will bring new dimensions in Man Utd's tactics

I say yes, but depends if Carlos Quieros is actually menat to be Fergie's succesor and shines during Fergies last years

Fergie's unrelenting defence of his players or Wenger's recuring tempoary blindness.

I take it Overmars obviously didn't see the player on the ground as well.

I have to say, this blindness issue is reaching epidemic proportions at Highbury!

Yes, he'd be a worthy successor. He's done wonders at Arsenal, considering how crap they were once Graham left and Rioch took over, he's completely turned them around in a short space of time, despite not having the budget we have.
He's a whinging and annoying little so and so, but you can't argue with the man's credentials as a manager.
