If we finish this season at 2nd place but with lower point tally and goals than last, would you see it as a success?

I’m going with no. Fewer points and fewer goals is not an improvement on last season. And for this season to be a success I wanted to see more points/goals.

I would consider finishing 3rd or 4th with more points (and a lot more goals) than last season a definite success though.

We've finished second under Ole and Jose and neither of those felt like achievements. Nobody in Redcafe was celebrating it that's for sure. They didn't even feel like an upward trajectory either time. I guess if we finally start playing football again one day that would be nice.

Would you guys consider 1st place a success if Ten Hag turned out to be bald by choice? Like, can you imagine him lifting the trophy, suddenly with hair? I'm not sure if I could stand it.

So Arsenal still win the league, we lose to (Arsenal - 20) on goal different. :wenger::wenger:

I would point out Arsenal are only 9 points in front of us and we have a game in hand.

What are we, the choosing beggars now? Finishing 5th ahead of Newcastle and Villa would be considered success from now onwards considering the form the team is in right now.

It's not about the point tally but rather the challenge itself. If we challenge for the league in a 4 horse race and end up 4th, I'd be happy, because challenging means we're making progress. If we end up 2nd without being in the race from day one then it's meaningless.

Man city relegated for 115 reasons, Liverpool banned for abusing asthma protocols, Arsenal fined 20 points for having Arteta as manager, Spurs being Spurs.
It's on.

We still wouldn’t finish second.
