If we don't win anything this season...

Not drastically different from what he'd do if we win something. Strenghen the defence and sign a fourth striker.

hell say fuch and shit happens and well win the treble next yr,

whatll be your course of action? a simple throwing out of all Man utd superstore gifts and a quick run down to the Arsenal superstore to suddenly become a loyal Gunner.

it wouldnt be the first season we went empty hander, check it up in one of your offical Man Utd annuals

And I have totally confidence in SAF... we've seen it before - and we'll survive again! - Remember the words: 'Keep the red flag flyin' high!'

We'll do the same thing we did after 98.

I asked a simple question and you go ballistic on me.

Grow up, will ya?

Yes, come on people, we are Reds for life, win or lose. It aint the End of the world, it'll just make next season all the sweeter.

It was a stupid question.
heres one for you, if we win the league and the Champions league how will that change things?
Do you think Fergie sits down at the end of the season and counts his trophys and then signs as appropriate?

My hope and wish is for Sir Alex to view the entire situation objectively and do the necessary changes whether it's the playing staff, backroom staff, the pitch whatever for the sole benefit of making us much stronger next season. There are too many things wrong with us this year so things MUST be done to rectify those issues/problems.

I think he must sell all of the defence and Veron and buy Nesta and Schevchenko.

I did this on championship manager and successfully beat west brom to the title in 2007.

;)

Can you specify what you think Fergie should/ will do,

from your posts over the past few months i can only see 5 or 6 of the present squad beingaround next season.

feck off, will ya?

Why do you even bother to "support" the team when all you do is moan? "Sell Barthez", "buy 4 defenders" etc.

Then what if we win feck all? Fergie can be proud of his lads, the way they fought back after Nov&Dec was fantastic and we've had a classic season. Not that I expect you to understand this.

Good post Murt.

If we don't win a thing, it won't matter - it happened in 1995 and 1998 and we went on to better things.

If Arsenal win the title, they'll deserve it.

Hey hey... Fair point, but please don't say it doesn't matter!!
- It's the trophy all the teams are fighting for!! - It DOES matter...

But if not we're good enough to win it this year, then we're not good enough! As simple as that!

But I agree... we'll be back next year if we don't win it... exactly like we've done before... I have totally confidence in SAF!

Unfortunate choice of words. It matters - but it's not the end of the world.

Fact is, we haven't been consistently good enough this year, and if we do go on to win it, it will be down to a whole lot of luck!

100% agreed!!! - We'll fight back next year, if we doesn't succeed this summer...

I don't think we need a wholesale change of personnel that's for sure. A quality centre-half obviously - but it's not superstars we need. Most of the team could be described as that anyway.

What we need to do is work at being a solid unit. Trophies are won by teams, not 11 brilliant individuals.

If we don't win anything this year then Fergie will do what he has done before ..he'll identify the weak points, and then he won't shrink from making the essential changes - three is a likely minimum number.
That means signing at least one European class defender, Veron out (his performance in the Deportivo matches will determine whether he stays ) and getting us back to four front line strikers (Yorkie now clearly doesn't count so we are down to three).
That's slightly harsh on Veron, as he is not the only one on trial for the rest of the season...Fergie will be letting the team know that they've very likely just handed the title to Arsenal, so anyone who wants to play for United next season had better play at the highest level in the key European games.

That's the best kind.

The year we won after selling Sparky and co. proved that it's not big names that we need. And we've won the title for the past three years without Veron and Ruud. This year we've brought them into the team, and we're likely not to win it. Maybe won't win anything. Nothing against Ruud of course as he has done everything we could have hoped for, and he improved the team - just making the point that big names don't necessarily bring trophies.

Have to agree...we need a few unknown(relatively) players who can add a new aspect to our style...

spark?

we've been playing with plenty of spark since november...

the fact is, we've had an off day. United are capable of putting 5 past teams like Boro...

another point:

Retaining the league is MORE difficult than to win it first time. We won it three times in a row..which is record for united.. but 'fans' expect us to win it every year...

If we don't win the PL this year, we'll be back next season, hungrier than ever, to reclaim our crown!!

PS Atleast we've made a fight of it!

We definately have been playing with plenty of spark since Nov..but we were not doing so before that..almost since the treble..we need to be playing like we were during 98/99...at the time we were creating chances out of thin air on a consistent basis...and we need to regain that form....the whole team.

We are still in with a very good/excellent chance in the European Champions cup and in case we all forget we had all given up on the league ages ago -- we made a great fight of it!

Great point giggzy.

Besides let's see really what Poo do against the Chelsea boys and the Arse in a few London derbies --their home from isn't that great!

After all pressure is off us now!

I really think that a poster who said that we need some changes is better than a poster who said that everything is okay and we didn't need to change anything.

I remmember read someone's post said that our performance this season can be summed up by one word "Mistake". If we really don't win anything this season, the positive thing is that it can stimulate us to think about all the mistake and get back stronger and more hungrier than ever next season.

Stop meaningless attack on person and start to discuss things objectively. If I'm really a scousers or a gooner I will just be very, very happy if United stop at the same point and doesn't make any change in the summer. Call lchk too aggressive or irritating, but don't brand him a friend of other team just because his opinion to improve the team is different than you.

So everything thru your rose-tinted glasses is hunky-dory eh?

Even after losing five times at home this season.

Feck off yourself if you don't have anything objective to say.

Mere exaggeration on your part

Should do - you can read them from my previous postings

Will do - buy a couple of defenders, bring in an assistant, buy a striker and perhaps a keeper.
