If De Gea goes to Real, what's the best deal we can get from them?

For all those quoting they'd only be happy with £x million, I don't think it's as simple as that. It would depend on what a suitable replacement would end up costing us. The important thing for us, if we do sell, and are looking to buy another leading goalkeeper, is to run both negotiations simultaneously, so the De Gea fee isn't known to other parties. Otherwise it weakens our position and we'll end up paying far more for a potential replacement if they know what we got for him.

Can't see them paying what we want, so it'd have to include a player. Personally out of the few they'd realistically let go of, I'd be happiest with Bale.

I'd be really up for turning the screw on this one.
1. We gifted them one of the best signings they've ever made.
2. There is always one or two unsettled outstanding players at Real to be picked off.
3. It's about time Manchester United got a good deal somewhere instead of being turned over.
4. Sure, it means no De Gea: But we will have a competent goalkeeper come what may next season.
Didn't Mourinho pull off an excellent swap deal once before (Eto?). He knows they can be value.
Cash plus almost any of the names mentioned -preferably Kroos- would be tops
