ICC Cricket World Cup 2015

Steven Smith is the unlikeliest looking addition to the "players you want out as an opposition fan" list.

From captain in the first game against England to being water boy in the final. Feel a bit sorry for Bailey.

The only reason I'm happy we didn't make the final is it would've been horrible to get destroyed by Aus.

I should be happy AUS will win barring a miracle. However, what leaves a sour taste in my mouth is the fact that this final has been an anti climax. You wait four years for a World Cup final and it's a fizzer. Give me a great contest that's a poor spectacle over this.

After the Asian cup final and how tense that was I think its for the best.

A nice stress free final

I know people like crappy and the others have been watching cricket since they were zygotes. Probably exceptions.. I don't know a lot of people in real life who remember cricket so vividly
I remember many many matches vividly since 1992 onwards when I was 7. I have friends who do too. Few years later, around 1995 onwards, I used to maintain stats and records of my favourite players and important events in a diary as there was neither internet and hence no Cricinfo :D

Why did he give Guptil a send off?
No idea why. Guptill isn't a prick, doesn't sledge in fact the whole New Zealand side doesn't sledge pretty much. Maybe he's jealous of who Guptill's wife is - Laura mcGoldrick is a fine looking lady.

Warnie said he'd let bowlers bowl as many overs as they like if he could change something about the one day game. I do think something needs to change. Too batsmen centric.

Exactly my thoughts. Haddin should keep that rubbish out of the game.

Warner should have made an effort to cross there.

Easy step is to get rid of the batting power play.

As well as the ball change.. Reverse swing needs to be in play.. Great reverse swing bowling is an asset in the death overs..

Yeah that too. It shouldn't be this easy for batsmen to get 200, or teams to get 400.

Come on Danny boy, give us a hattrick to spice up the activities.

Who would we give man of the match to and indeed player of the tournament? Start player of the tournament for me.

I agree.

I'm not sure what coverage you all have in England/India etc, but they showed a graphic 10 mins ago which showed the steep increase in WC strike-rates and the amount if centuries in WC's since 1992.

In 1992 the strike-rate was 67 or something and there were 8 centuries throughout the whole tournament. In this WC the s/r is 88ish and there have been 38 centuries so far.

I'm only 28, but call me old fashioned - I loved the days of one day cricket when 240 was an insane score and 210/220 was considered a very defendable total.
