I see the 'ABU' Media are back in full voice...

Exactly. I'm sure some of these journalists are afraid to think before they write. I mean, Greenwood would've watched, trained and played with Lukaku, Cavani, and Ronaldo all before the age of 20! How can that not be considered a good education for a striker?
I hope he wasn't watching Lukaku. He might master the art if the first rich bouncing off him and only scoring against the weaker sides.

Is this "Pick odd man out" :D

Cristiano Ronaldo FC

Desperation is real.

Waiting for the follow-up article - 'Harry Kane is a very selfish man. He's only in football out of desire for fame and personal glory, as proven by the City debacle. He doesn't care about the development of Spurs' youth. He will have a terrible impact on Bryan Gil and Troy Parrott and it would have been better for Spurs if he had gone to City.'

Hell, I could probably write 1200 words of absolute bollocks on this! Wonder if the Times will give me a job?

Cristiano Ronaldo FC

The Times was so happy with the hate clicks they got from her piece earlier this week they went for a follow up! That's the game I guess.

All about that CPM after all. Quality journalism stopped being cost effective in th eearly 2000s.

All this is gonna go one of two ways; win a major trophy and it's a big feck you to all the ABUs and trolls who all of a sudden think Ronaldo is washed up and going to bring United down or not win a major trophy and a year of 'told you so' reporting.

Solskjaer is in a no win situation anyway because he is the only manager who definitely has to win something this season. And even if he did, the narrative would change to having had a team that won it for him.

I really hope we do something this season. It would be one of the sweetest successes if all time.

Not even Pochettino is under this much scrutiny.

Can the club not just ban these scumbag journalists from covering Utd? I’m guessing not due to freedom of press and all that but seriously these fecking hacks would be out of a job in no time if they couldn’t fill pages spewing bile about Utd.

No. They can stop them coming to games or not involve them in press conferences at OT, but they can write whatever columns they want for their newspapers. The ones writing these articles probably don't come near OT and you can't stop them going to other grounds.

It’s not only about Ronaldo, just look at the reactions when we signed Lukaku compared to when Chelsea re-signed him.

Times on a roll it seems

Yeah. They must be getting great data on this. Clearly the beacon has been sounded: 'Write as much rubbish about Ronaldo, the clicks are amazing.'

So far we've had talk of how a couple of years of Ronaldo "sacrificed" James' supposed development for the next decade, talk of how are we going to fit so many attackers in, and who is going to take the pens.

Waiting for a story about how Ronadlo won't like anyone else scoring instead of him next.

How much do the Sports washing murderers at City and the corrupt anal boil that is Abramovich pay the press to lace in derogatory coverage of us into media communication with fawning over their engrained financially doped ‘successes’?

That's already done. He is selfish and only think of improving himself and is not a team player

Yes because Kane has won the league previously and dominated finals… oh wait. Alison Rudd is also completely clueless about football. No idea why she’s employed to write about it.

No - Craig Burley and Paul Ince win that by a million miles
They aren’t on TV as much as these two. “ESPN FC” pundits are on another level of dumb fecks including their presenter. He is prolly the worst host of a talk show.

...but he turns 24 this year. starting to be past the time where we worry about developing a player.

of course, exceptions exist like Drogba and Vardy who break through during their mid 20s but that's not a common occurrence, nor has James showed much promise to get to that level in the first place

He hasn’t got a clue. This summer we’re paying £15m on Sancho, £3m on Ronaldo, and £34m on Varane (I think). Levy wanted £150m upfront for Kane. Merson is such a waste of time, they might as well just ask a random punter on the street and you’d get a similar level of analysis.

I missed this, I love that the ABU media are back in full force and showing their bias against us. Just like the good old days. Wouldn't have it another way.

Couldn't agree more, specialises in superficial and seemingly not-really-thought-through bombastic pronouncements.

I'm pretty sure the Varane payment is also staggered. And even if you add up the full sums for all three transfers, you're still a good way off Kane's pricetag.

Paul Merson is hilariously daft. How is he still employed!?

Exactly, bring it on, ya know we're headed in the right direction when these muppets start spouting again.

I mean would anyone rather have Kane in the team over Ronaldo anyway?. I mean yeah if you'rre talking long term then i get it i suppose, although i wouldnt be surprised if Ronaldo at 39 is better than Kane at 32.

Kane wins you the league though. Have you not been paying attention to all the leagues Kane has been winning?

United wouldn't have a fanbase outside of Manchester if it wasn't for the media. They deserve at least some credit for making us as big as we are. In fact, they're probably the reason that most people on the Caf are even aware of the club.

But the huge volume of coverage we get is inevitably going to include both good and bad. I don't see the point in getting upset about negative stories when they go hand-in-hand with the positive stories that brought United to the masses in the first place. You can't have one without the other. It's the price we pay for making our deal with the devil (the devil in this case being the newspapers and Sky).

I don't agree with this, especially in the context of abu media. Might be true for someone who lives in the UK, but far from it for someone abroad. The massive TV coverage United gets is due to success, not to what Merson and Souness have to say.

Just look at the way this tweet is worded for maximum engagements. Gotta hand it to them really. They know their audience and they are determined to provoke hate clicks and comments.

Please tell me any footballer, or team sportsperson, who doesn't strive to better themselves? It really is a most idiotic statement. In bettering their own abilities, these sportspeople can inspire youngsters to work hard to try to be as good as that person.
Journalists are just trying to create any hype that can sell more copies, so their bosses don't sack them.

At least the brazen, in your face nonsense are easy to ignore. Listen to this

it’s 16 minutes of creating worst case scenarios and then saying it’s up to Ole to solve the worst case scenario as if it’s already happened

did you know Ronaldo is 37, won’t run and doesn’t score anymore and that his teams mates are resentful of him for it? It’s up to Ole to resolve that and that’s his biggest test
