I hope we feckING draw LIVERPOOL in CL

no, the best revenge is to win the competitions AND hammer them.

absolutely. we will have revenge at some stage and the sooner the better. I can think of no nicer way than to finish their season by putting them out of europe. they are full of it now thinking they are the better team but they are nowhere near as good as yesterdays scoreline and will be smacked back down next time we meet

Right, so me wanting United to draw Liverpool in the CL so that they have a chance to get even is greedy then? Thanks for clearing that up, i just thought it was normal...

This hurts indeed. Only way to get some pride back is to cane them in the CL, soon as possible.

Liverpool fans know this was a fluke result, and if we manage to draw them in the Champions league they'll be a high number of their fans physically sick with nerves.

I'm generally nervous playing Scousers, but even I think we need to get this result out of our system.

It is also very important that we regain our pride.

so, winning the competitons wouldn't be enough to restore our pride?

they would give everything to win the league title, let alone the treble, the quadruple or the quintuple, those great wins vs Real and us wouldn't mean much to them if they win nothing

I love your bitterness.

It's not called bitterness, it's called truth. It's all well and good winning the games against the bigger teams, but what's the point when you can't beat the lower teams. Liverpool's record against the big teams this season is almost perfect but their record against the lower teams leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't be surprised if they go out now and drop more points to any lower teams they have left to play.

Not without beating them. There will still be a huge amount of damage done to it after such a humiliating defeat.

Bollocks they wouldn't. Even if we win everything, they will still turn round and say "We beat you 4-1 at your own stadium in your greatest ever season" if we don't draw and beat them in the Champions League.

it would be silly to bother about that

I had a whole day of listening to gloating plastic scousers in the pub yesterday and I had to bite my lip for most of it but I let them have their day.
What happened yesterday was a 500-1 chance and won't happen again.
I had no problem with the Pool fans celebrating their win but the assholes who were in United fans faces gloating need to be brought down a peg or two
People are posting about being arrogant by wanting to be drawn against them in the CL but for me arrogance was what the Pool fans did to me yesterday with their obnoxious gloating. I dont want Pool in the CL final or semis, I want to knock them out in the QF and end their season early. Then I will sit quietly with a big grin on my face while watching the plastic cnuts cry into their beer

I don't want them. I want our boys to focus on the run in. We are losing our grip (Inter shambles, now this, Rooney looked like he was passionately playing a Sunday League game, not a professional 6-pointer).

They've done the double on us, tough. What I sure wouldn't want is for them to now go on and win it.

Everything else, even a scenario where they win the CL (unless we get to meet, of course), is secondary.

Who gives a feck? If we win everything, Liverpool fans won't come out of their houses for at least six months. They won't be thinking about yesterday that's for sure. For them to have beaten us home and away and still failed to stop us, that will be the most galling part.

The only way to gain revenge for this is to win #18. We all know that drawing level with their record would hurt them like nothing else. Some people are really going over the top over the significance of yesterday.

No they aren't. We've had our heaviest defeat at Old Trafford for nearly a decade by my reckoning, and to them as well. I'd say that's pretty fecking significant.

You said that not even winning 5 trophies would shut Liverpool fans up about it, which is rubbish. They'd kill themselves.

they'd be dead and burried

the funny thing is that this loss may fire us up and help us achieve the improbable

Yeah, its time to wake up from the lollipop-tour and stop kidding around at the traing ground.
feck! feck!
I wish Pool for the next round of CL.
We got hammered, face it.
Like to think Vidic got the hairdryer experience...

Well, if it doesn't give us a kick up the arse, and we continue to defend like a sunday league side, then clearly we don't deserve half the trophies we're going for.

I said yesterday I want them in the CL and I'll say it today, I want them. We need them, I cannot believe the luck they have had against us their past two-games, there was a time at 1-2 when we had chances to equalise maybe even more - but because of a couple of defensive howlers we let them take the glory, its time to rip that back off them and what better way to do it then it the scousers "competition" I'm confident we'll get them, rip them a new arsehole and go on through to the semi's.

Yesterday wasn't luck, they were by far the better team and actually played some really good football. Our players on the other hand looked like spineless cretins for 90minutes. Luckily the players can escape the fans by driving off in their £200k cars with tinted windows, and hide in their multimillion pound mansions whilst the rest of us get to sit in a pub having fat, sweaty scousers feeling it necessary to jump all over you, punch you in the back, sing in your face and basically act like utter cocks. Losing I can cope with, that performance was a disgrace though.

Got the same treatment...

We need to get this result of the system, hence the need to play them asap.

Quarter finals please.

Can you imagine if they knocked us out the Champions League though? Personally I hope they draw Barca and get twatted around the park losing 6-0 or summit and we take a completely different route to the finals.

I agree. If you're going to go down, at least go down fighting. But we didn't do that yesterday. A tight loss you can cope with, but it was the manner in which we lost and the way the scoreline suddenly seemed to go from 2-1 to 4-1 in a matter of no time. A win for us would have been brilliant, ending Liverpool's hopes once and for all but at the end of the day, it would have been more seen as another 3 points towards retaining our title. For Liverpool fans though it was completely different, they were in the last chance saloon. If we'd have won, I would have been happy beating them and ending their hopes but my thoughts would turn to next week's match and our win would then become a happy memory. Them on the otherhand will spout about this all week long, my uncle saw a house with a Liverpool shirt in the window and balloons round it and my dad said he saw a house not far from us with all Liverpool scarves and a flag up at the windows

Rarely post in here, take this the way I mean it. We've missed each other on numerous occasions in the past, it would have happened last year if it hadn't been for a one footed Norweigan twat, and we were 6 minutes from meeting united in the semi final in 2003 too, so...

I genuinely want you next up,it surely HAS to happen sooner or later and I'm convinced it's this year, we can't both keep missing the bullet.

I don't want you in the semi's and certainly not the final, theer's only so much much nerves can take. For the neutral it would be fantastic, for the real fans totally excruciating, fecking 180 minutes of sheer agony. And a Man Utd Liverpool final. in Rome?

feck that I'd sooner lose in the semi's than see that one take place.

Go and get some nerves, man!

I'm not one who avoids giving credit when due. Firstly, congrats on the 3pts, but i'm pretty sure its a bit too late for mounting a challenge on the league. What hurts is not losing, but the fact that our team simply didnt not show up, nor did they possess the hunger to win the game. The game means a lot to the fans, and the players let us down. We gifted the game, and in no way did Liverpool outplayed us. In both occasion this season, none of the 6 goals against us were a result of any form of positive play. I would love a draw against you guys, and put the bullshit about Rafa's tactical brilliance in Europe to rest once and for all.
However, i have to say that if you guys keep your spine, ie Agger and Skrtel in the middle (no carragher), Masherano, Alonso in the middle of the park, with Gerrard and Torres up front, and get a good winger and a quality backup striker, i can see you guys mounting a serious challenge on all fronts next season. Till then, feck off !!

good post, bet you're basking in the warmth today, alas i'm not :( still, having had a day to deal with the shock i can console myself with the fact, barring a proper implosion, the league should still be ours.

a united v liverpool champions league tie would be horrendous to watch, i feel a bit sick even thinking aboot it. wouldnt surprise me if it happened tho. would be like going all in at poker.

So, we lost twice in the league but we are certain that we will beat them in the CL?

that's called arrogance

as a rule, arrogance gets punished and success based on arrogance is quite vulnerable and temporary

personally, I believe that we have the strongest team and can win the lot. But confidence is one thing, arrogance is quite another.

Sensible.

There's something not quite right about drawing English teams in the European Cup. It's incestuous...

The Champions League is about flying round Europe and playing the Giants of the continent, not popping down the East Lancs Road.

don't really care, the best revenge is measured by our tophies at the end of the season, they can boast about beating us twice, but it will mean nothing when they win feck-all.....................

You realise that if we draw Liverpool in the next round, we will either play on the eve or the day of the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough?

That would not end well.

This is true.

I hope we do not draw Bayern, Barca, or any of the English sides. However, realistically, a true champion can prevail with whatever he/she/the team is faced with. That being said, bring whoever on, if we show up on the day with the right attitude it is anybody's game.

Chelsea vs ?

Liverpool vs ?

United vs ?

Arsenal vs ?

Chelsea vs Porto

Liverpool vs Villarreal

United vs Barca

Arsenal vs Bayern

I have a hunch

Ya, I feel we will get either Bayern or Barca. Liverpool will get the easiest possible side, Chelsea the second easiest possible side.

Figures.

As I said though, champions gotta be able to beat anyone on the day.

True,

Bayern is the great unknown, can't put my finger on them being a contender or a pretender, but they sure are talented.

Mind you, any club at this point of the competition can beat any club.

Real prospect of a Utd Vs Liverpool final... imagine!

I will only be bothered about the CL when we win the title. For me it's second in importance by a long distance.

I also don't think a United v LFC final is that likely to happen. Still a long way to go.
