I don’t celebrate goals anymore

I don't want var even if it was correct every time. Controversial wrong decisions added to the craic in the game. Banter after a game arguing about offsides etc was brilliant.

Are the actual games and football that boring that you need controversial wrong decisions to speak about?

I didn't even celebrate the Bruno goal, was sure VAR would overrule it

It sure is a lot less fun after VAR took away pretty much all of the emotions associated with your team scoring a goal. The sad thing is that I don’t see a future without VAR.

Apologies for the bump but this is killing me.

It has taken the fun out of watching football for me. I just feel miserable on most goals because more often than not, they are disallowed.

VAR ain't going nowhere.

Deal with it.

I feel like I've gotten better at quickly analyzing goals before celebrating due to VAR. Like Garnacho's one yesterday, saw the touch on the line and knew it was getting ruled out, thus my instant reaction was annoyance.

I had this problem at first but then I started to celebrate VAR instead. The culmination of technological precision and human-centered decision making is, for me, the pinnacle of human ingenuity. Once we lived in caves, scared of the sun and ferocious badgers but now we can harness the power of VAR to ensure football goals are given correctly. It all started with the code breakers don't you know. We'd never have had VAR if the Germans had won.

God bless it.
Great and very serious post. At last, a poster who took the Caf seriously.
