I didn't want to say the C word but I cant hold it in anymore.......

My old dad used to say, that everything that's bad for you, begins with the letter 'C'

Coke (both kinds)
Crisps
Chocolate
Chips
Cake
Cookies
Candy
Condiments
Caffeine
Cancer
Cholesterol
Constipation
Collisions
Catastrophes
Conflicts
Corruption
Cnuts
City

Avoid all that and you'll be fine.
He forgot...Curse

No and we've still done better than every club in the country apart from maybe 3-4 during this "shit" period (and at least one of those would be arguable). It could be a lot worse (for example, it could be the same but also you've just been arrested).

Also I'm not sure when Dalot became a top player, and he's certainly not a top left back. He's always doing daft shite that costs us chances. The fact this is what we resort to as labelling a "top player" (basically anyone who avoids serious injury for a year) answers much of the opening post.

We're not cursed. At every level of the organisation we've been managed by idiots and narcissists for a decade.

Yes, we are. We're cursed to be managed by blatant incompetence. So many decisions were made at this club when the vast majority of simple fans knew they were wrong, yet people who are paid millions make the most stupid decisions.

Everyone knew Ten Hag should have been sacked in the summer despite the FA Cup win; everyone knew we shouldn't have given Bruno a new contract after his decline in the last years; everyone knew Mount wasn't needed here as his position doesn't exist in our setup; everybody knew we shouldn't have spent so much on Maguire and Antony; and the list goes on and on. It's stupid decision after stupid decision; we're cursed to be run by morons.

No, our fanbase are just 90% goldfish who are swayed by clickbait articles and people who speak loudly at cameras that film them watching games, instead of watching the actual game themselves. This is going to be hella painful.

Club was fecked pre Ineos, a culture that rewarded PR and people who had good games now and then. That affected everyone at the club, every junior coming through, every agent, every coach. Ten years of rewarding mediocrity. We were a banter club for players to get fat contracts and boost their insta followers.

Ineos arrived and, who knows, they might be shite but they’re trying to completely change what was essentially a semi pro setup from the management perspective into a modern day football club. Touch wood our ridiculous injury list seems to be diminishing after they restructured the medical department, the transfers though are clearly more for building towards the much discussed 2028 title charge (feck knows if we’ll even be in the Europa at that point).

We have finished 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 8th since SAF left - the pattern isn’t changing but that’s what Ineos will hope to solve by going for younger players and actually having some kind of a plan.

In addition to the OP, we were cursed with having the Glazers and that absolute gimp Woodward descend upon us, literally putting the club in the position it is now and at the same time, the ridiculous rise of the Bert’s, totally out of the blue. You couldn’t make it up. Go from the treble, when we should have built upon it like Madrid have done and although, of course we had our 2008:season, where again, we had a platform to build upon, we were twice, suddenly faced with one of the greatest teams in the history of the sport when other PL sides who have won the top prize have frequently done it against mediocre opponents and often in a season when nowhere near challenging for the domestic title. Cursed or not, we sure don’t seem to get the rub of the green. Plus the constant media scrutiny/criticism which puts demands on us that no other club has and puts pressure on referees and disciplinary actions etc… never mind having the stadium wiped out by the luftwaffe and arguably our greatest team wiped out in 1958. You can nitpick at all that but jeez, it’s a wonder we’re still in existence

Not cursed. just badly run from the top.

Plus the competition now is great, so you need a super manager that buys all the correct players and have the time to make it happen.
But what great manager would want to manage you now?

Although the club has lots of money, it just reeks of career suicide.

You'll have to find a great up and coming manager.

Take Amorim, it's time!

I think we need to send in a couple of demonologists to do a bit of investigating. Followed by an exorcism if needs be.

The Glazers are generally compared more to STDs than curses per se. But get them out and it will be fine. You have people that want to spend money and win, you have talented football people like Ashworth and Barrada making decisions. United will be good. The right foundation is being put down already.

I mean, you would think that even out of sheer luck/probability that we’d have stumbled across something in the last 11 years. Things like the Greenwood situation is terrible luck for us. Easy for fans to just say ‘we’re just a terribly run club’ but fans have no idea what it takes to run a football club and can’t really speak on that. Other clubs who have had this label stuck on them have managed to piece together better football teams, like Chelsea, even Newcastle at times.

We’ve had some terrible luck and no breaks at all. And then there’s been City who have been performing at a ridiculous and unprecedented level in this period, otherwise we’d have won another PL at least and things could have turned.

Obviously we have been horrendously run from top to bottom for decades, and the only thing keeping us competitive for a long time was Fergie's genius. We are now reaping the consequences of years and years of neglect and mismanagement.

However sometimes it does genuinely feel like the universe hates us for being so successful during Fergie's reign and is out to pay us back with interest for decades of success.

Are we cursed?

Seriously. Its beyond a fkn joke. Yeah we came second and won a few minor trophies but since Sir Alex left we have been through sht. Literally everything that can go wrong has gone wrong.
1) Spend over a billion pounds and literally everyone turns to sht. Look at Chelsea. We all laughed at them but at least they got a few good players. Look at Cole. Even with complete incompetency you would think we would stumble upon at least one star player. From Pogba to Sancho to Antony to Ronaldo and on and on. They never become the players they should be. I guess Bruno has been the closest but even he is contentious and now turned to sht.
2) Weird sht like Greenwood. He should have been our star. Who could have foreseen that?
3) Players that are inconsistent. We can never have a player that plays well year in year out. Its just fkn impossible it seems. Casemiro was finally the DM we needed and then he turns to sht. I know players form changes but our players go from a 7/8 out of 10 season to a 4/10. It's unprecedented. Add Rashford to this and on and on.
4) Injuries. Yes everyone has injuries but we seem to have more than our fair share.
5) Managers - You think we could stumble upon at least one good one. Chelsea did Ok with Tuchel and now look like doing well under Maresca. Yeah its too early to tell. But literally all our managers have been less than we expected. They come in. Spend a load of cash then collapse. rinse and repeat. In 10 plus years we should have managed to get one good one. Liverpool managed it. Villa managed it. Bayern managed it. Barca managed it. Not us.
6) Top players just doing weird sht. Look at Dalot yesterday. Just didn't track back. That has nothing to do with form, with being tired, skill, wanting it. Why? If it was ust once then you just say ok that was odd. But its all the fkn time with United players and different ones. Either inexplicably losing the ball or the man or doing some other stupid sht. Yesterday we let a defender run through our team in the 3rd minute! Thats odd isnt it? Well not really it happened a few days ago against Twente. How many odd things must happen? Downing tools. Not wanting it enough. Keeper letting it in etc

I can go on and on. Everything always just turns to sht. How much faith has anyone have that a new manager or new players will change anything? Well yes they will have a good season maybe win a cup but I mean really change it where we are a top team challenging for the Prem and Champions league.

Is it possible we are just cursed.

On point 1 - Chelsea are on their 5th manager in the same period that we have stuck with Ten Hag. They are bound to stumble to success before us simply because they are trying harder.

I'm not superstitious or even mildlystitious so don't hold with curses.

We are just the unfortunate victims of corporate greed and incompetence.

So let's not let those responsible off the hook with talk of curses.

Obviously SAF sold his soul to the Devil for 20 years of glory. Now we will be cursed for the next 20. (Won our first PL trophy under him in 1993, last won it in 2013 + 20 = 2033) Quick someone warn Berrarda he is 5 years too early!!

Most people just saying Glazers or thats just part of a normal ebb and flow of football. Is it? Liverpool are probably the closest example of a team with a big history that went through a long period of not winning anything. But did they get battered 7-0 by United. 5-0? No. Did they have star youth players slappig up thier missis? Nope. Did they have legend players on the Piers fkn Morgan show? Nope. Did every single signing and youth player turn to sht? No. Did players down tools. Stop running. Nope. And on and on. Yes a lot of our downfall can just be explained by going through a difficult period. Yes we won some cups so its not all bad. But a lot of it has nothing to do with normal transition or building a new team. Its been fkn weird. Be honest. Weird. Same as Arsenal. Yeah they came 8th but it was never just fkn weird. Even when they looked bad they looked together and like they had a plan and style of play.

No. We are just paying for a series of bad decisions at club level for 11 years. Its a domino effect to where we are now. It won't be solved in 1 season. We need to make a series of good decisions for a couple of years to fix all our mistakes.

my thoughts, we've bought so many players but none turned out like Palmer. But i think with the manager we can have the prime Bruno back in form.

Yes Moyes cursed us when we sacked him and he swore he woud never lift it untill we let him finnish the remainder of his 6 year contract bringing us the title in his final year.

Or we are just horribly run, take your pick..

This just feels like absolving the club of any responsibility. We've been a joke outfit run by clowns for 13 years that's the reality. And even Fergie was papering over massive cracks in his last couple of seasons.
