New season is ahead of us and I cant wait to see us start! We have a top manager, bought exciting players, have a great and likeable team and our football is getting better too!! On top we have some highly talented young players who will hopefully get more and more minutes.

Me too. Watched all our goals from last season before I went to bed yesterday and got hyped up. The new season brings hope and opportunity and we have plenty to look forward to with this manager, team and signings.

Hopefully we start strong against Wolves and don't lose our opening game for a change.

Same here. Garnacho is back. A young striker I have never seen will be leading the front line. We have got a ball playing keeper for the first time, his partnership with Martinez and Casemiro will transform us. AWB has been transformed. Rashford had a very close to world class season last year. Bruno is going to absolutely loves our fast forward line.

Only downside for me is we didn't get a FDJ equivalent but I can't think of any player like that in world football to be fair.

I feel excatcly the same about the new season. More excited than ever (since the Fergie years). Can't wait for the season to start.

Only a potential Quatar-deal and our cheating neighbours are hanging like a Sword of Damocles over my optimism.

Add me to the list. Never expected a transfer window like this given the state of affairs right now. Only cloud I have is Greenwood returning (hope he doesn’t) and the Qataris buying the club (hope they don’t) but I can’t wait to see us on the pitch.

Buzzing for the season to start. A shame our first fecking game is on a Monday evening.

A positive thread, good on you @Escobar

With the progress last season and the very exciting signings we have made I can't wait for the season to start too.

He's replaced the spine of the team so it will certainly be interesting to see how we play over the coming season.

However we can't afford to lose or draw a bunch of games in the first 10 otherwise the knives will be out after the spend this summer. Hoping for some big performances against Arsenal and Tottenham.

Same. Also feels like the first time in forever there has been a decent break from football for some reason. Can't wait for the season to start.

If we retain the good things we did last season and eliminate the poor things (having better players will help with that!) I can see a very good season ahead. I have no doubts over ETH, after Guardiola/Klopp, he was the best candidate for the Utd job but at the back of my head the spectre of the leeches derailing the season looms large!

Think we'll see progress from last season. We had a long spell last year up till the WC were we played some good to excellent football, so hopefully we can build on that. Oh and when we lose lets not concede 7.

Yeh I’m very excited for the season and even as we stand now I think we will have a significantly better season than last year as we have improved in all the right areas. The only way my excitement could be enhanced is if the club sale went through to the Quataris and if we bring MG back into the fold. Then we would really be looking to kick on and go right to the top again.

The club sale seemingly put on hold has put a massive downer on my optimism for the future, but I am excited to see how we do with another year of Ten Hag with a modern keeper and young promising number 9.

I'm not particularly excited. I'm relaxed which is how I used to feel when SAF was in charge. For me ETH brought back some peace.

Get excited -> lose first game -> lose excitement -> hoping we'll finish at least 4th -> season ends -> repeat

I'd feel a lot more excited about the season if I felt confident that the club were going to make what I think is the only right decision regarding he who must not be named.

Yeah, i'm a tad more on the excited side of things but i agree. Feels like there's someone 'in control' again and there are certain standards at the club again and anything less won't be tolerated.

I havent been this excited for years. Looking forward to seeing Hojlund play and Mainoo being given chances.
Better buildup from the back with Onana hopefully. Tinged with apprehension that the fact the Premier is faster, so hope he doesnt get caught out coming out his area though.
TH has had a full pre season with the players, he now knows all of them and their strenghts and weaknesses, compared to last year.
I feel its more where will we finish in the top 5, rather than whether will we make the top 4, as it has been in recent years.

That's the spirit mate

Joking aside I'm really looking forward to the new season and the new signings. Especially Onana.

This has been the first summer in ages where I haven't actually be longing for the football to start. Usually I can't stand the lack of football - but yeah, not been bothered this year.

Think a big part of that has been The Ashes filling the void though to be fair.

We were all excited to see Kobie Mainoo and Amad develop into the first team from pre-season. Their injuries is such a devastating news. Hopefully they will come back stronger.

Im excited to see a United side with a proper no9 and a ball playing keeper

I'm excited for Utd to be back, it feels like an age since it was on with the strange year last year. That been said I am cautious about being overly optimistic about the season, I think it will be tougher this year with more teams fighting for the top places and I dont see us necessarily finishing as high as 3rd this year nor winning a trophy. (Neither of which will be a disaster I might add and I'm not trying to be overly negative, I just think it will be tougher at the top so we may well improve in terms of performance overall and have a good season but the top 4 might be tighter, we could be longer in a title run with more teams gunning for it but ultimately finish 4th due to everyone else upping their game and have deep cup runs without necessarily winning any silverware)

I feel a marked increase in confidence that this will be a good season and I’m excited too. ETH has definitely been a calming presence and someone you can trust to make more good decisions than bad.

I also think because our business has been done earlier than usual for us and that we appear to have got our top targets in Mount and Onana that we’re making good changes to personnel.

Looking at City’s squad depth in attack for next season I think there is a chance to gain serious ground on them. Starting XI is world class but injuries to any of the wide players and I don’t see the depth there with the loss of Mahrez.

Arsenal however worry me. They have added quality on top of what they had last season. They look stronger and if Jesus can stay fit too they have pretty much top quality and depth in each position.

Chelsea under Poch look a bit more threatening and will have a clear idea of how to play. They need a CM though and it would be a big jump for them to become a threat.

Liverpool having a completely new midfield will be an issue but they have great options in attack.

Spurs will be spurs. Even with Kane I think they’ll struggle to get top 4.

Then you have Newcastle, Brighton and Villa who I think will be knocking on the door of top 6.

We finally got our signings before the season started, I think/hope that makes a big difference.

One thing that excites me a lot is the amount of leadership and authority within the squad. Miles better than only a few seasons ago. Mixed with the right amount of gritty players and young prospects, we have a really exciting squad all of a sudden.

Onana (by assumption), Martinez, Varane, Casemiro, Shaw and Fernandes all bring a calmness and authority to the table. They are a great spine in the team.
Martinez, Garnacho, Antony and Fernandes are absolutely fearless and all seems to have just the right amount of madness in them.
On top of that we have a group of players that are just about to break through. If everything adds up, I believe that the likes of Mount, Antony, Sancho, Højlund, Garnacho could develop into top top players for us.

At the same time I keep telling myself not to get my hopes up. But Ten Hag is the difference between my gut feeling now and earlier. He seems hungry and determined.

I absolutely see the grounds for excitement - there's been a sense of focus and progression throughout the window, and the team showed obvious progress under ETH last season. But nevertheless, for my part the prevailing mood is uncertainty. More so than for many years. One obvious reason is our attack, which was different degrees of dysfunctional all last season, and I struggle to see a really plausible reason why that should be changing. But more than that, I think it's from the fact of how high they're pitching the aims - ETHs uncompromising standards, the vocal winnerheads and their expectations (Casemiro, Martinez, Bruno, Onana). And before anyone jumps on that, yes, those are good things and yes, it needs to be that way if we're going to get anywhere. But then you've got to be good enough to actually deliver on those expectations and that self-image, or those things turn against you. Will they be? I don't know, it's just a feeling.

Very excited. Just hope we get off to a good start. Last season’s start dampened that hope real quick.

I’m not excited, got chubbed for the Wolves game in TRA so for the first time in over 3 years I’ve got to go up in the gods to my original season ticket seat!

I think we’re in a much better position than we were this time last season. I think Ten Hag is great. But I worry about our midfield given that there is zero cover or competition for a slow-to-start Casemiro, and an injury to him is the sort that can completely derail a season.

The squad still needs more players.

Excited? I'm a Kane signing and a Qatar being named as new owners short of being excited.

I'm excited every new season. However, this time I have been most inspired by what opposition coaches have been saying about us during pre season regarding our patterns of play and combinations.

Feels like we've finally moved into the modern football era after years of dinosaur football.

This will of course change before the window is over, but;

As it stands, I agree City's got depth issues, at least compared to before. It'd hit them hard if Walker leaves too.

Liverpool; all in all probably improved, but that will be some transition in the midfield, and they've lost a lot of dressing room influence and depth. A bit unpredictable.

Arsenal; with them I suspect it'll be as much what happens in their heads as the squad additions. And I'm also not entirely convinced by their squad additions, except Timber. So, also a bit unpredictable.

Chelsea will for sure be much better, which isn't saying much. You'd assume though that Pocchetino will need a little bit of time to create a fully functional new machine, and that this'll put them at some disadvantage vis a vis their competitors for top 4.

Newcastle you have to respect, but I suspect they somewhat overperformed last season, and they really don't have ideal squad depth for a CL campaign. Good signings, but hardly transformative.

Spurs are hard to judge while the Kane saga goes on, and who can really tell how it'll go with Postecoglu and his reversal of stylistic approach? In any case, they are in my view outsiders for a top 4 spot this season.

Can Brighton get significantly better than last year? Well yes they can, but surely it's more likely that they won't. Villa though is not getting enough attention i think - they've made three astute signings that are all likely to significantly improve them, and they were basically playing top 4 football the last half of last season.

However, the really striking thing is the number of teams that are looking weaker than last season (although obviously that could still change). Everton, Wolves, Palace, West Ham. And Fulham, if Mitrovic leaves. In addition to which I can't remember the last time the newly promoted looked as bad as they do this year.
