Look at which types of players and manager bring out the best in a talent as PP.

Then see if you are this type of manager, if there are those types of players in the club.

If no to both then don't Pogback.

Honestly I think our failure is more about bad buys. McTominay is the poor kid from the reserves who has to start thanks to the big signings failing (or in this case or inexplicable unwillingness to buy a holding midfielder).

The list of reserve players forced to play is much smaller than the big buys that went bust.

He scored the opener in the Europa Legua final. The last trophy United won.

Has he always given his all in a United shirt? Probably not.

But he was signed on the pretense that Mourinho would come in and build a team, not on the premise that he would be expected to carry the team.

The club never built that team and somehow that failure was placed on his shoulders. Personally, I'm happy that he's leaving because he doesn't have to be the scapegoat anymore and can go somewhere his talents are appreciated and leveraged. At the same time, United fans won't have to deal with the "virus" anymore. Win-win for everybody.
 
The club let him down and he let us down, not always giving 100% effort.
 
He won't be remembered. He's done nothing memorable. He'll be on a par with a veron or forlan in years to come in terms of legacy. 'oh yeah he played for us, I'd forgotten'.
 
Poopba. Midfield version of Berbatov but without the style and class.
 
The Diego Forlan of the post Fergie era. One iconic game (the comeback vs City) and lots of disappointment outside that. Except Forlan's agent and brother weren't mouthy cnuts.

Jogba's injuries have come from a number of things, but effort isn't one of them.

A humble, hard-working professional that even if he was off-form would cover every blade of grass to help the team. Someone totally driven to being the best they could be to help the team achieve its goals. Never flash, respectful off field, and just always let his football do the talking.

My only regret is we never really saw him express his personality and have fun out on the pitch, would have loved to see him let loose and do a crazy goal celebration.

Surprised he's leaving to be honest as he's never mentioned being unhappy, not so much as a mention through his agent. I guess that's just how he was.
 
How will I remember Pogba? As the first sign that the club was starting to lose its way.

He let himself down.. largely an expensive flop, he had the odd match when he turned up and was class. Poor attitude.
 
At least the Pogba vs Delle Alli debate can finally be settled. The winner was neither of them.

Someone with bags of talent but came here for trophies and the minute he realised we were off the pace he dialled it in and the spent 5 years taking liberties and disrespecting the club. Putting the effort in for a few weeks after Mourinho was fired just to show he could do it - if he could be arsed - which he mostly couldn’t.
No idea how his attitude rubbed off on others in the dressing room but will be very glad when he has finally gone.

I'll always look back fondly on his last utterance, when away on international duty, where he suggested that he'd wasted the last 5 years of his professional life at Utd. Right back at you Paul, underwhelming to the end, and hows about some of the undeserved wages you've accrued over the last half a decade being relinquished to charity if all of this was such a tedious nonstarter for you?

this was the guy who we paid 89mil for and was supposed to build a team around.

good player but way too inconsistent and just never came across focused enough.

Much expectation but severely underwhelming. Did not earn his wages nor his place as a United player. SAF was right in letting him go the first time.
 
Disappointing, forgetful. Was very excited when we signed him, but it just never worked out.

Good player capable of some class moments but ultimately not consistent enough.

Every season he seemed to get a big injury that kept him out for weeks if not months.

The goals against City.

That's about it really. All in all, a waste of 6 years both for him and us!
 
He's a reminder of just how bad we've been both on and off the pitch unfortunately.

Leaves for free...resigns for £90m....leaves again for free it's almost comical.

On the pitch he's been mediocre at best and awful/injury prone for the majority of time.

I'm glad he's going, it would be a complete joke if this guy signed a new deal on 400k+ a week.

Yes they did and contributed significantly and consistently, they were definitely part of the 'mix' and each could be counted on to step up when things were not going well.
Pogba has tremendous skills, but so many factors have to come together for him to produce his best level of performance, even when the team is doing well, when its not doing well Paul can be a liability as we have seen on a number of occasions over the last few years.

Not sure what you mean by 'the actual numbers' if you are referring to outstanding performances, I would say during the last six years that there were about six or maybe seven games when for twenty minutes or so Paul was supreme, his performance outstanding. Once against City (away) in concert with Sanchez, Paul's whole second half performance was fantastic and took us from 2-0 down to a 2-3 victory. I also remember a season or two back at Spurs a heroic goalkeeping display from David DeGea and one glorious 70-80 yard pass, from Pogba, directly in to the path of the marauding Rashford led us to a 0-1 win.
There have been odd ten minute or twenty minute spells of excellence from Pogba that I can remember and some games where his 'assist's have been great, but overall these flashes of brilliance are few and far between and there have been many times when he has effectively been 'hiding in clear sight'.

I wish him well, but he has for me been a great disappointment. Arguments can be made about him playing out of position, but for most fans Paul was bought as the 'go to man' and he never lived up to that expectation, or even sometimes tried. Fans will understand that players cannot be 100% all of the time, but when the chips are down they expect some kind of reaction, unfortunately with Paul the only tangible reaction quite often was his agent claiming he wanted away from OT.
 
fans will forget him once next season begins, that's the impact he has made in 6 years.
