How Was Veron?

How did the master perform tonight? Quite good by the looks of the MOM poll

He was excellent. No wasting time on the ball - gets it and gets rid.

Veron had a great game. Picked up where he left off against the arse.

Seba was FANTASTIC, this was his best game for us. As said, he ran the midfield, was behind alot of our attacking player, was interecepting and tackling = won alot of balls+stopped alot of attacking plays from Depor, it was a performance best described as a perfect combination of leadership, skills, determination and hard work. This time I believe it's not all talk, look at his face he looks so determined now... he really seems to want to prove something, you can see the delight in his face about his performance after the match.
And you can now finally see in his game that he really IS trying to change and adapt his game. He is much tougher now and tackles alot, much fiercer and looks more and more like a PL player. My hopes have been raised...

Too bad he got that stupid booking from the ref. I have not seen the game, but Man Utd Radio seemed to think he had won the ball!

Talent surely is not all that is needed. A hunger and pride for playing is also needed for a player to click at a club. It was a question of time with Veron here. Hopefully he will have seen the last of those days he seemed more careless.

I think we'll appeal against that once Fergie see's the re-run. Never a booking.

The slightest touch he got on the ball should win us an appeal.

actually, i am afraid that's a two footed tackle by veron, granted he gets the ball, but european refs are not going to tolerate such tackles.
An appeal might not be successful.

:(

Not the worst thing in the world. But, it would sure have been great to see him play against the Italians of Turin, bitter rivals of Lazio.

Verón was fantastic tonight. Really good.

And he didn't deserve that yellow card, he got the ball first, it was so clear. And if he misses a Juve game it will be very sad, he's perfect for such a game.

I've always supported Verón BTW if you didn't know. :D

He'll do that a week after the match at Old Trafford then...

It was a two footed tackle from behind, so yes it was a yellow. But the real problem was that the ref was not consistent at all. 3 definite penalties not awarded (2 Utd, 1 Depor).

But BOTH feet were on the ground, proves he was aiming at the ball, raised feet is what to look for.

Doesn't matter, he got the ball before the man! Clear!

The yellow shouldn't have been IMO but there's no chance in hell he'll play Juve at Old Trafford in February.

Veron was fantastic again in Europe but I don't think it was his best performance for the club.

Hmmm, that line seems to keep being used for Veron's recent games. That is GREAT to hear.

Verón was tonight very very good. And not for what people expect him to be good for. His overall game was excellent.

Veron was magic! And he has learned to speed up his passing game while retaining his accuracy.

Verón will not be sold, he will become a United legend.

BTW, I'm serious. Fantastic player, and is now getting what English football is about. Just wait till he is comfortable with it.

im not the biggest Veron fan in the world, even before United bought him. But, im starting to warm to him slowly. His last 2 games for us he's been fantastic, everything we've needed him to be. Seems to have a great playing rapport with Phil. My only fear is that his form will go pear-shaped again once Beckham & keane come back into the midfield. BUT...if it doesnt we're in for a treat :D
ps. didnt see him give away one sloppy ball tonight. thats another improvement.

Guess what, a Verón knocker is replying, if I can get this posted in time it might look good. Otherwise.

He only needed a bit of time mate, that's all.

I think that Urani is writing an essay!

Veron has followed up his good game from last weekend. He ran the midfield, doing his link up job brilliantly, and seldom lost the ball. Moreover, just the same as in Arsenal's match, he was now willing to made his shirt dirty to got into tackles. That's a very good sign for Veron to perform so well in these two consecutive matches, and that also told us why he was being critized a lot previously -- he really hasn't done his best and didn't give his all in his previous matches for us. But from now on, a new Veron has born and if he can keep up this good performance he will be very important to us in the future matches.

i think veron looking from the sidelines (injured) helped him understand his position.

i also think we are more better equipped for europe than previous seasons (b4 veron arrived), take a look at the CL final, we were without Scholes and Keane, we won the match on pure andrenaline, even though we were outclassed in the middle.

but with the emergence of Butt, Phill and Veron we can handle this type of situation better now.

All Verón ever needed was a bit of time. It's just some were not willing to give him any.

Very good improvement seen in both Arsenal & Deportivo game, some good tackles and passing. However I'm not giving full credit to his ball controlling. I hope he can practice more to use his left foot than he'll manage to improve so. Please don't misunderstanding that I think he is no good, not at all. It's just my personal opinion that he can get better and bring more glory to United.

can you appeal against UEFA's booking? I didn't think that was possible?
