For me personally it would be:

Neuer
Alves Puyol Pique Alaba
Xavi Busquets Iniesta
Messi Lewandowski Villa

Any Man City players actually make it into your Pep Guardiola's Best XI?

None. I'd have Ribery instead of Villa in that formation though

Current players only? If not then I'd have Aguero over Lewandowski and maybe KDB in there somewhere.

I’d have to shoehorn Messi into the false 9 and KDB at RM just because I don’t think KDB can be left out and is a better player than Lewandowski.

Robben was arguably better than both!

I’d say that KdB is the closest shout but there’s no way he’d get in ahead of Xavi and Iniesta. So to answer OP’s question, no.

Kompany over Pique is the closest I can think of and even that, not much in it.

You could argue for Rodri over Busquets. Then KDB should somehow fit in there, but no matter which formation it's hard to get him in.

Iniesta in the position that Villa is (as he often played in the NT), KDB in the midfield where Iniesta is, Messi as a false 9 and Robben on the right.
Alba in place of Alaba because of the connection he had with Messi, and there's a strong case to be made for Rodri in place of Busquets also.

I don't think any City player gets in, you would need to put players out of position which would be bad and nowhere near worth it.

There is no known universe where KDB supplants Iniesta. You're talking about two different tiers of player.

It's funny because I want to say people are just being anti City biased but I genuinely can't work out how you fit any city player in.

Any team that can't find a place for peak KDB is bonkers tbf, but if its him or Messi/Iniesta, its not really a choice.

I'd have Aguero over Lewa

Agreed if it's not based on how they played for Pep. Aguero was kind of past it when Pep took over City, right?

Crazy that even De Bruyne can't get a spot, but the midfield is just too stacked.

Yeah he was but I thought it was just overall quality and not specifically under Pep but yes you are right.

Weird that Yaya doesn't get a shout but that midfield is packed

It really, really isn't. I have to wonder how much you saw of Busquets if you think that.
Watched him a lot, one of my favourite players, but Rodri is imo currently the best player, he's amazing.

I watched plenty of him and I think it's close. Busquets is a better fit in that Barca midfield but I don't think he would be as good a player in the premier league as Rodri. Rodri is more physical but not as brilliant a footballer as Busquets was.

In general this comes down to taking the 2010-11 Barcelona side and improving it where possible.

Rodri over Busquets would sacrifice some of ball retention and passing ability for better defensive cover, but you almost can't break up that midfield trio of arguably the greatest side ever.
Kompany over Pique is an upgrade defensively and provides a real threat on set pieces. Could be argued.
If we can just go with their peak season for Pep, could an argument be made for Cancelo at left-back? I thought he was awesome for them over a couple of years until he was shipped out.

Imagine being under 50 years old and having already managed so many good players that none of the following make your starting XI:

De Bruyne, Lewandowski, Robben, D. Silva, Henry, Zlatan, Ronaldinho, Villa, Y. Toure, Rodri, Hummels, Kompany, Ederson... And I'm sure that I've forgotten 10 top players too.

Fecking spoiled!

I don't understand how Man City wins as much as they do, when their players are this poorly rated. Surely KdB, Rodri, Walker should be close to his best XI team.

Individually maybe not the most talented, but wasn’t Pedro fairly excellent in peps team/system, out on the right? My memory’s not what it used to be so I could be getting my timelines wrong though.

I don't know how, but you'd have to find a spot for De Bruyne somehow.

Well you've pretty much just voided your own argument. Unless you think physicality is somehow more important that than being a brilliant footballler. It's not like Sergio struggled with the physical side of the game, he was the lynch pin dm and the best in the world, if not ever in that position. So by your own admission he's better than Rodri, and implying that he would somehow struggle in the premier league is quite frankly laughable. The list of premier league teams he dominanted is extensive.

I’d have David Silva in ahead of Villa or Ribery. He’s probably the only City player although Kompany runs Puyol close.

Close, but they’re up against Alves, Busquets & Iniesta. Probably in most all time GOAT level lists in their position. Insane indeed.
