How I Met Your Mother

I find it very entertaining. People say it's a watered down version of Friends, but I don't buy that.

The show kicks ass. What's really funny is that he plays such a convincing womanizer that some people don't know he's gay in real life!

Great show. Very well put together, hope he never finds his wife so it carries on!

Bumping this up, anyone watched yesterdays episode?

A real tear-jerker at the end.

I may just be being ignorant but...

Have they had much of his dad in previous episodes? I have never seen an episode with him in it until this one so I wasn't too upset by it tbh. The numbers was a cool idea, I didn't get it until 6.

Guilty pleasure of mine I must admit. It has the right balance of drama and comedy.

It's always Sunny In Philadelphia and 30 Rock are funnier imo.

I hate it. It's Always Sunny, 30 Rock, Modern Family, The Office etc...

It's part of Marshall's background story. Check out the end of the episode in season 4 with doug the bar man. They hinted about what happened in yesterday's episode 2 seasons back.

There is already a bloody thread on this show. It was funny in seasons 2 and 3. But this season is just boring. It is not funny at all.

There are funny moments but I find it a bit cringe-worthy, not in a good "Fawlty Towers" way but more due to embarrassment for the writers. I think the girl who was in American Pie is almost totally devoid of any talent.

Not me though. This season has been so shit, you cannot even call it comedy. Its just like four or five people just randomly saying some shit.

It's been the case ever since Stella came in the show. It was so good for the first 2 seasons. Since then it's been a gradual decline which has become rather not so gradual anymore. It's just shocking now.

Loved the episode with Hurley and the Lost references though

Yup Lily is possibly the most annoying character in the show.

There won't be a mother. The kids are probably adopted or something.

The wait is freaking ridiculous. It is not like it is so interesting that we can continue to watch it. The longer they wait the more viewers they are going to lose because it is starting to get boring.

Problem is, they are going to milk it long as possible. The show is in syndication, so they are going to make as many episodes as possible until someone from upstairs pulls the plug (which by then, they probs rush the ending). They get 9-10 million viewers per night, so they are still doing great and their ratings are not falling. So like I said, they are going to milk it.

I think the show is a season overdue. People are right, its just random people doing shit now.

Definitely showing the mother at the wedding for this season last episode. And HIMYM will only go up to 8 seasons max, the main casts don't plan to renew their contract when their contract ends for the 8th season (if it evens get to there, hopefully it will).

That'll be a bad career move for a few of them.

I hope not. Show is too drawn out. At least up to season 4, you understand how all these points lead up to the mother....and now, just random shit. Like if you are telling this story to someone (IE the kids), you wouldn't provide all these details....as it is inconsequential. I know they mentioned that this show more than just the Mother, but how people transition from 20 to 30s....but to me just seems like a BS answer to create more and more useless episodes.

You are right, they will probs show her at the end of season 6. And season 7 should be about the chase and that is how they should end it.

They aren't uselesss, they are entertaining... it sounds as if you have read the book and are complaining they aren't keeping to it.

No new episode this week, damn it! I really didn't like the last one ending on such a sad note, not what I expect or hope for from the show at all, walking away feeling a bit sad.

Anyways, did anyone ever watch Arrested Development? I'm rewatching it these days, and it suddenly struck me that the guy who plays Ted (no idea what his name is) has the exact same style of comedic timing and delivery that Jason Bateman, who plays Michael Bluth, has in AD.

I can't believe I never noticed it before, but now that I'm rewatching it I find myself thinking "that's the exact same mannerisms as Ted has in HIMYM!" all the time.

I've got up to and finished season 5 of this, have enjoyed it but I'm not sure how much longer it can keep going without losing itself. I'm waiting for season 6 to finish before starting them, don't want to catch up with tv and have to wait week by week for episodes.

Don't expect too much from season 6. It is pretty shitty to be honest. It is not funny at all. It does not matter if you finish watching all the episodes in season 6, you wouldn't mind waiting because that is how bad it is now.

I think S6 has been far better than S5, which was dire and went nowhere.

S4, 5 and 6 have all been dire.

Well yeah, but S6 is at least having a bit of a return to form. The whole Barney and Robin thing was idiotic, because it limited the shows best character. He's back to being really funny again now.

Him and Marshall are basically saving the show. Otherwise I wouldn't still be watching it.
