Do you have 3.5 hours available? That's what took this guy to achieve 112%. Would probably take me 3.5 lives.I have access to a non work laptop for 2 weeks. Really want to play this but I don't know if I'll be able to finish it

Yeah its absolutely insane. I loved watching that far more than the Any%NMG runs which were pretty much about finding the shorter route to THK and finishing the main story. In this they had to do literally everything hence the chances of screwing it all up is infinitely more. That's insane. Nerd. Meet me on the pitch
Edit: I don't know how they kill bosses so easily in a few hits... I try for ages and nothing works...
Aren't you missing two charm notches? I don't remember what I used but Shaman Stone is excellent here to get that Abyss Shriek damage up. Soul Catcher or Spell Twister will help with that as well. I'd forget about optimizing charms for the Hollow Knight to be honest, it's such a learnable fight that you'll get through it anyway after several attempts, doesn't matter if it's pretty. So finally went into black egg. Surprised how easy Hollow Knight was with my charm setup... Problem is, this setup is useless against Radiance.
Quick Slash
Unbreakable Strength
Long Nail
Grubsong
I think with Radiance, I need spell based charms... But then I struggle with Hollow Knight.
What setups did you guys use?
Thanks mate I'll try it. To be fair, I've taken Radiance quite far based on my current charms (which is pretty much the load out I've used throughout the game) so this will hopefully help. I normally don't use spells so just need to get used to it.Unbreakable heart, unbreakable strength, Shaman stone, spell twister and grubsong is what I'm using on Absolute Radiance, anything less spelly would prolong the fight too much. I consider the nail extension charms a total luxury, except when up against White Defender/Dung Defender and Sly, because you can actually reach past one of their attacks and damage them for free. I think with every other boss you can save the notches by learning proper spacing. Quick slash will give you a little extra against Hollow Knight but he also parries a lot so it can damage you. Against Radiance you don't need quick slash, but abyss shriek will take her down fast.
When I was doing Hollow Knight and Radiance I was still using nail based charms like you are so I know the temptation but spells are so powerful and you should get the hang of using them pretty quickly. I-frames on the Descending Dark can be great against hollow Knight.
Try it out.
Yes sorry forgot, I am also using Shaman Stone. Yeah I save my soul meter against hollow Knight. When hornet Comes in, you can also get 4 cheeky slashes in to get extra soul...Aren't you missing two charm notches? You probably know this already: but definitely don't waste any soul against the Hollow Knight. You'll want to start the next fight with max soul.
Well done! Finally completed it! Used @dumbo setup... Worked a charm!
Finished at 107% (didn't complete the pantheons, trial of fools or path of pain). I think I could have potentially done trial of fools and path of pain but not worth the stress and effort considering I'm not going for 112% because I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to complete the pantheons.
A bit disappointed that the final two bosses weren't more difficult considering one is the titular character and the other is the big bad.
I thought the hardest boss by far was Nightmare King Grimm...
Thanks to the peeps here for helping. You stopped that 60h play through becoming 100+ hours
Really looking forward to Silk Song. Until then, time to move on to Luigi's Mansion 3.
After how hard this was, I'm confident taking on any game.
How difficult is it to get from 100 to 107%? Not that I'll ever get to 100%
Cheers mate. I may go back and try them but I'm generally not a completionist. I usually move on once I've seen the main ending for a game. But what a game this was. Probably the first adventure game I've played since the original Last Of Us.Well done mate. You didn't seem to have too many issues all things considered. You could definitely finish Trial of the Fool and several of the pantheons, if you wanted.
Cheers. Mate I remember back then, I was really struggling. If I carried on playing the way I was back then, I'd have never finished this. But once I got through Soul Sanctum, it all clicked and I got really hooked to it. It also helped that people on this thread really gave me valuable information on how things like charms worked, which made me love the game even more (i only started upgrading my moves and using more charms than Wayward Compass after killing soul Soul Master!).Well done!
Remember this:
Yeah I spend a while getting it to click as well, but when it does it's amazing.Cheers mate. I may go back and try them but I'm generally not a completionist. I think this ended up being one of my favourite adventure games of all time. I'm still thinking about it now haha.
Loved it.
She has just 4 attacks, so learn which ones you can punish. Her two easiest attacks to punish are her horizontal charge and her jump followed by a dive to your position. For the former, jump and downstrike, for the second you want to walk sideways and attack after she lands. If you're not comfortable with her, just keep your distance, don't chase her and let her come to you.I've come to believe that you are all spoofers and it is in fact, impossible to get past the Greenpath Hornet.
I've put more than 10 hours of play into this game and at least 3 of those have been trying to beat her. She goes ballistic after you've made her stagger 2 or 3 times and kills me every time.
I've left to get more gear, stronger weapons, better charms etc but when I get back she still takes the piss. It's reached the stage where I'm not sure I can progress any further without getting past her.
I found her tough at the start but she's beatable. Listen to @Ainu, learn her patterns, how she telegraphs moves, be patient, find the right time to strike.I've come to believe that you are all spoofers and it is in fact, impossible to get past the Greenpath Hornet.

This is easily the best advice ever been given on this thread.Whatever you do, don't listen to her audio.

Well done mate. That first one is quite tough. They're are tougher bosses but as with anything in this game, enough practice will set you in a good place to overcome the obstacles. Until you come up against Nightmare King Grimm, then your absolutely feckedFinally beat the Hornet last night. Cheers to all in here for the advice and words of encouragement!

Luckily he is only an optional boss.
I hated those guys. Luckily they only reside in the crystal area.Cheers man!
Enough practice is something I'm certainly getting! Those flying yokes that fire crystals at you are my new nemesis!
I think I may need to finally buy a proper controller for the Switch. This game has my thumbs worn to the bone on the joy cons.
I'm having serious withdrawal
I just watched a 1+ hour video on hollow Knight lore. Very interesting. The detail people have put together is insane.
Cheers man!

I think it's his video I watched.Yeah its got such a hardcore fanbase trying to put things together. That Mossbag guy made a career out of it on Youtube. Hopefully we get Silksong soon.
I wish I was half the player you are.I'm up to about a 33% win rate against Absolute Radiance, I'll probably try and bump that up to 50% before going back to the Pantheon. Working my way through the remaining medals to break things up.
All it takes is to develop an all consuming obsession for a couple of months.I wish I was half the player you are.

Remember when you were having a tough time with Nosk and now you've done pretty much everything. Trial of the fool is still the hardest main game thing and you did that alright.I wish I had that kind of patience, but it's a step too far for me I fear. I did the first pantheon but I despise the Oblobbles so much I don't even want to try the second. Although I would like to fight Paintmaster Sheo. It's still installed on my PS4 but I haven't touched in a while, might pick it up again later.
Yeah I didn't think I'd get to this point back then, but it only happened because I was having fun. I think I've ran out of fun in Godhome. I'm not interested in Absolute Radiance, as it's just a variation (mostly just faster), but Oro & Mato, Sheo and Sly are completely new bosses, so I can see myself going for the ones I'm missing. Problem is I've started playing Cuphead now, won't be long until that game has replaced all of my muscle memory.Remember when you were having a tough time with Nosk and now you've done pretty much everything. But I get not doing Godhome. I'm having a blast but the way some of the bosses/variations are ringed off behind long grindy challenges is the one possible misstep of the game. You have the first 4 Pantheon end bosses who are new and then the last pantheon has 4 new boss variations. That's a lot of grind to access the full content - even if you are up to skill. And it's bloody good content too, and not just throw away stuff.
I've got another new game that I want to get into soon but I think I'm going to have to at least finish the final Pantheon first, while the muscle memory holds. Then I can come and go for the last few medals and attempt them at leisure.
I was thinking of getting this soon. Any good?Yeah I didn't think I'd get to this point back then, but it only happened because I was having fun. I think I've ran out of fun in Godhome. Not sure yet. Art style and music are wonderful but it's very limited in terms of gameplay. It's something I might get tired of very quickly but we'll see.I was thinking of getting this soon. Any good?
