Even as a fan, he should be putting more effort but I've realised that since José's arrival, any player that seems out of favour with him gets written off in no time. It can't always be one sided, knowing that the manager has a notorious reputation for falling out with everything that moves. Let's not pretend like the man is a saint either.

To be fair the manager kept faith with him for a fairly long time, longer than a few others got.

He just didn't repay that faith, and has now fallen well down the pecking order.

He only has himself to blame.

I can only speculate like anybody else and I'm not forgetting how he can just be invisible when he's not playing well. I do think it's been said before that it seems like he is a bit mentally inferior to the typical Mourinho player. Seems like he's the sort of lad needs more regular hand-on coaching, especially when going through a bad patch.

From everything I've read/heard, Mourinho really doesn't care about that for his attacking players - which probably explains why most of his attackers (historically) are either hard/strong, robust, smart attackers or so bloody gifted even when they're off their game they still contribute.

I don't think Miki is that top level player that can get away with just being left alone to work it out for himself.

hard to see a future beyond January if a bid comes in

that's 8 of the last 9 squads he's missed I think

You can't even say his exclusion isn't justified.
It's part of our problem, 30m players playing absolute dogshite.
Being comfortably outperformed by Lingard ffs.

Not true. He was subbed most of the time. Thats ok though. I do think he wasnt putting 100% anymore and thats why Jose took him out and casted away. He will either agree with Jose or leave. Simple as that.

I actually remember matches during which people here were tearing their hair out, not understanding why others are subbed but he remains on the pitch.

Doesn't matter. You can't give 90 minutes all the time to a player who's playing so badly as he's been doing. If starting regularly is not enough to give a player confidence to look decent, it's pointless.

Stop with this BS about confidence. All the players need the confidence of their coach to perform. He's just not good enough and too weak mentally to play for a club where you have to win every week-end.

One of the worst signings we made recently, up there with Depay and Schneiderlin.

I'm just saying that he can be very good if he will feel trust from the coach and will not be afraid to get 8-weeks ban after some mistakes. I'm watching his game 9-10 years already and surely can say that no one from current attacking options has his vision and his abilities to create free spaces for teammates.

Miki can't expect trust from Mourhino. Cause he didn't choose him as a coach of the year. He is getting punished for that also.

Thats rubbish. What about the rest of the team? Anyone else had to chose the coach of the year from our team? That is not a real reason.

No one else is a captain of their national side in the squad. I think.

Did you watch him earlier in the season before mou exiled him? He was just putrid, couldn't even hit a simple pass to link up on counters. Kept trying and failing to nutmeg the defender when he had the ball on the edge of the box. Mou gave him more than enough games to play through his poor form. He will probably get 1 more chance before the summer and he better be ready to take it because I can see him cleared out in the summer if he still performs horribly.

People are speaking about the same here in Armenia. He was in bad form during last few months and deserves to be benched,

Yes, it would be a good decision by Jose to bench him for couple of games and give some rest to get back his conditions. But Jose is so clever, that he played Mkhitaryan every single match and then gave him vacation for 1-1.5 months.

It was the star of the season he wasn't tired, he was just in bad form for what ever reason. He didn't play exactly very well last season so maybe he isn't good enough. Not every player makes it a united and 2 years is enough to tell. If mou decides he is not good enough for us and cannot be salvaged I'd agree with him.

Been there done that. Didn't start vs Brighton. Was given a rest vs Swansea in League Cup. Was on the bench away to Benfica. Didn't improve one bit ghosting vs Chelsea, with terrible workrate. Not trying to press Chelsea players (especially Cesc), when Chelsea casually passed the ball across the width of the pitch to build up for the goal.

Others try their heart out when the chance was given and it's unfair if Mkhi is not dropped now. Any other made up excuses?

Ugh. I don't get Nationalists.

If Mkhitaryan is a hit, that doesn't reflect well on you. And if he's a flop, nobody will think any less of you either.

Let it go. Mkhitaryan has been a failure at United. It happens.

This. Who cares if a player is from the same country as you are?

I assume you are not from a small country :) Today's rumors are saying that Mkhitaryan have given his agreement for a move to Inter. If he will not play in FA Cup, then rumors are true.

Lingard was frozen for a little while but once as soon as Mourinho gave him his chance he's grasped with both hands. We can all agree that Lingard is far less talented than Mkhitaryan but his mentality is flawless. At some point, players have to be responsibly, yes Mourinho is a tough manager but if he expects the best in terms of effort, it is because it's also for the player's best interest.

If he isn't on the squad for Bristol you have to think he's off in January, the guy can't get a sniff.

It's so annoying.

I'd prefer it if they just admitted they were from the same country as the player and that's why they're defending him, instead of making up football related excuses.

There will always be hits and misses with transfers. Sensible thing in those transfers is cut loose and buy some one else.
I only see Mourinho improving his transfer record at United from now actually.
If we can recuperate the amount we paid for him and invest it on some other attacker in January then that would be good.

Spot on pal. Cut our losses, hopefully bring in Ozil

This is rather sad development of events, I hoped he may be given another chance, not only on the pitch but off-pitch too.
He has it in his lockers, the tricks and skills. Its just that he cant produce in on a consistent level.

People care about many things on here. Some even care about what country are the owners of City from and use it as a stick to beat the noisy neighbours with. That is the Internet at it's best for you.

Perisic is the better player and there is no chance Inter let go of him now.
He might be the better player, but even at the rates quoted in the summer he was touching the overpriced mark.

If inter want our player that bad, pay up. Wanted or unwanted.

I’m from Norway

I would be shocked if he is gone in January. That would be too soon to lose him, unless of course Inter is paying a fortune

I can understand it. I mean, Mkihi is easily Armenia's greatest ever footballer. So if you're from that country, and your greatest ever football goes to the club you support/one of the biggest clubs in the world, you'll damn sure want him to be brilliant there, because if he's a failure, then your countries greatest ever footballer couldn't hack it at a the highest level.

Armenian mafia on Caf?

Honestly... Micki has two ways. Most likely he will go, same as Kagawa. So much for "one of the best Bundesliga players", i knew that was load of bs. But in theory he can surprise and come back, these things happen sometimes. But i don't really believe. As a number 10 he is just to plain. Lingard at least has speed&work rate, while Micki's asset seem to be invisibility cloak.:D

Inter want him? That'll be 100m thanks :)

Thing is, Perisic is clearly one of the best players at Inter, who is valued and wanted by his club.

Mkhitaryan is basically the opposite for us.

Regardless of what happened in the transfer window last summer between the two clubs, if a decent offer comes in for Mkhitaryan then I think the club will take it.

I guess a 'decent offer' will be between £20-30 million.
