I honestly can't handle watching him play again for us. He's fecking shit. Even in the first few games he got loads of assists he was shit for 90% of them.

I'd honestly start Lingard over him and I rate him as a championship player ffs.

This is how some fans talked about Fellaini, When/if he hits form Mkhitaryan will be fantastic. I still believe he hasn't showed us his skills.

Lmao

:lol::lol::lol:

Painfully, I don’t disagree with most it.

It’s just there’s such a huge gap between his good and bad performances.

I'm hoping that we as a team and the individuals will get better soon. Love the results but they are not sustainable unless we improve! Mkhi.....(sigh) maybe he is waiting for December. That's around the time he appeared last year to deliver Europa Glory!

Neither has Fellaini. He just wasn't awful for a few games.

It probably says a lot about how he's been playing recently but I thought he was better today.

I thought mkhi wasn’t as bad as last few games. It maybe due to change in his position of play. He was playing centrally early in the 2nd half and was making the same mistakes, losing possession easily and not being able to influence the play linking midfield to attack. This was also moment when benfica were growing into the game. Then Jose bought on herrera as to gain the midfield control and mkhi was pushed to the right. After this change i thought mkhi did well. He has pace so for counter attack he would be the outlet and with 3 in midfiled we started to dominate the midfield.
I think it would be better if we started him in the right rather than centrally. With pogba and fellaini in centre mid maybe he will do better centrally. But until they come back, he should play in the right.

Nowhere near good enough, but better than anything he has shown in a while. Some glimpses of his natural play and ability, combined with some shocking passes and brainless play.

Mathematically speaking, every time he has the ball, my subconscious mind tells me that there is only about 10-20% chance that he wont lose the ball. Out of 10 times, he can only make it one or two times.

When was the the last time we had a United player like this ? :o

He should be fined any time he tries to put the ball through players' legs. He loses the ball all the time and yet he continues to do to that.

And he loses the ball again. Our worst player again.

That’s just ridiculous. He was in the top 3 players of the tournament last season in the Europa League - a trophy that we won. He got 6 goals in 11 apps, and scored in the final. He’s been so much better for us than both Di Maria and Falcao.

I went to 3 of our Europa League games, including the final in Stockholm, and no way was Mkhitaryan one of the best players.

Sure, if you only look at statistics it looks rather impressive with his goals and assists, but his actual play leaves a lot to be desired.

In the final for example, he was our worst player on the pitch, but he scored the 2nd goal so some people tend to forget how bad he actually was.

I don't have an agenda and I do want him to succeed here, but I have been so underwhelmed with what I've seen from him so far in a United shirt. I think we need better than him.

Recently he’s been loosing every battle and constantly getting dispossessed without creating anything in the final third. No wonder people are unhappy!

Last night he was just very quiet and put in a pretty nothing performance which is actually an improvement on his last few games.

He wasn't outrageously bad last night at least.

I’m not claiming that he’s been amazing for us, but he’s been head and shoulders above the likes of Di Maria and Falcao, his stats alone earn him that at least.

I wouldn’t care if he’s sold tomorrow, I just don’t understand why people have to be so petulant about it all. Maybe when we were all at wits end with Moyes or Van Gaal and they kept playing shit arses and being stubborn, but it’s not like that anymore. People have still carried over that negative attitude and cry like everything’s going wrong on here. Just fecking enjoy the games for once!

I can’t understand how so many on here can be so negative towards Mhikitaryan. He is one of few in the team capable of a creative pass in the final third.
I can agree that he’s been poor lately, but it seems people have made up their mind about him being a garbage player. Can’t for the life of me understand that.

He can be easily replaced.

There will always be some who ignore what they see with their own eyes and convince themselves a play will come good no matter how bad they are. Happened with Kagawa and it'll happen with Mkhitaryan. Personally I hope we cut our losses with bad players instead of holding on to them for years and getting nowhere. Mkhitaryan just isn't cut out for this league, that much is obvious.

By who? There aren’t a sea ful of gettable worldclass AM’s

There's lots of 'gettable' players better than fecking Mkhitaryan. He doesn't have to be world class, just better than Mkhi. What do you suggest then, we just hold on to him while he keeps playing rubbish and hope he comes good?

Rubbish.

We have scouts all over the world. Just because we as fans don't know about many other great AM's, doesn't mean there aren't any out there, especially better than Mkhitaryan.

Not sure if you're referring to me in particular, or people on here in general, but I don't see how expressing disappointment in Mkhitaryan's performances means I am/we are being 'petulant'.

The guy simply isn't performing at the end of the day, it's clear to see.

My opinion remains the same. Compare him and his output with players playing for the other top clubs both at home and abroad, and you can see he's around 2 levels below those players.

Nowhere near the level of player we need to reach the top. He's a good player, and a nice guy by the looks of things, but he's simply not great and he's peaked.

Upgrade in the summer s a must.

I'm highly disappointed by how poor he's been for us. I still think there's a great player in there somewhere but we're never likely to see it in the Premiership.

Were you not the guy who said he’s been worse than Di Maria or Falcao? Or were you the guy who said he’s championship level? Can’t remmeber, but this thread has been an abomination.

I'm the guy that said that Mkhitaryan has been the most disappointing transfer for me, which includes Di Maria and Falcao.

Di Maria couldn't settle in Manchester and we had LvG who didn't know how to manage him anyway, yet we still sold him for a decent amount of money, albeit at a loss.

Falcao had just come back from a serious injury and it was only a loan.

Mkhitaryan has been here for longer than both of them, seems settled in Manchester, is getting plenty of minutes, yet isn't playing well at all. Like I said, if you're a stats man, I can see how you're inclined to think that Mkhitaryan is doing a good job, but for me, he is seriously underperforming in a pivotal position at Manchester United.

I agree. Then we will sign a replacement and he wont meet the expectations, so then we say, sign a different player, and then he wont meet the expectations. Round and round the carousel goes.

Yes, because we've never signed a player who has improved the team.

He is so weak and goes down too easily. Needs to shield the ball better. He has been poor. Let us see if this is just a bad patch, or just his level.

What do you mean by gettable? Such a defeatist attitude. City have been able to build a very strong squad despite no one outside England knowing who they were a few years ago. No one would have thought PSG could buy Neymar but they did. We're the richest club in the world, why do we have so many fans who think we have to settle for below standard players?

Always fear our attacks will break down when he's on the ball. And lately, they have. Disappointing, yes.

Every one of Citys players was well known and highly rated before they signed them. Jesus was probably the lesser known but still well known.

Gettable doesn't only mean "gettable by throwing lot of money". Players should want to come to the club or play for the manager.
Unfortunately, Real and Barca are like dream come true for many players all over the world. If they ever get a choice to choose between Real and us, they ll probably lose Real. Neymar went to PSG because he wanted to be a top star, not just because PSG will give him a lot of money.
While money is a huge factor, a player should want to move too.

I agree - when you start to settle for mediocrity you end up like Liverpool.
