Looking excellent tonight. The commentators are making a point to say how much space he's getting but he's making that space. Covering every position in that final third, must be a nightmare for them to pick him up
Nope.
Decent half maybe (especially compared to some performances this season/last) but "aggressive" isn't a word I'd use for him (hence why I said no).You have dodgy eyes though.
The way he played tonight is the way he has been playing all season bar the Super Cup and second half last Saturday. The only difference is that we were 3-0 up after 35 minutes and this makes his performance be branded good by the very same people who have been criticizing him harshly all season so far.
I have been defending him all along. Tonight himself and Matic bossed things. Martial was very good too. But everything good was coming from Matic and himself.
I can guarantee he will do the same against Palace and that if we are not three nil up at half time, people will criticize him. He is probably our most creative player and one of the few who can see a pass.

Strange game to claim he should be benched.Bench him!

He is not far off. Look at his stats, not only assists and 1 goal in PL. Look at the ratings, pass rate and so on. A lot of people over react. Hell, just a guy above you basically claims that he had only 2 good games in United shirt.Umm, no. We criticise Micky 'cause he loses the ball and makes bad decisions a lot in a full match but both those traits were kept at a minimum today so he has rightly been praised.
But to come here and claim this is a standard michy performance this season is quite frankly revisionism, let's all hope he replicates this kinda performance going forward to match his stats
Now this is a proper match, completed with stats. Not like the others.
Pace of the game and officiating.True, and for whatever reason he seems to perform better in the european competition.
Hope he starts performing like this in the league as well.

If he doesn't have to worry about being bulldozed without being award fouls, he's great. Otherwise he rushes things a lot.
That's not the case though, so he either has to bulk up or learn to draw fouls the way Mata did.

That's the thing, you're only referring to stats but football is more than the numbers (though they play a crucial part). For every assist he makes he messes up a couple of chance creating opportunities and though this applies to flair players as a general rule, michy's missed opportunities are quite frequent and frustratingly simple at times
De Bruyne miss placed or lost possession at least four times in the first half last night. David Silva did the same at least five times last night. How do I know? Because I counted them myself, because I knew someone would come on criticizing Mkhitarian. He is the same type of player to them. He loses the ball or misplaces it, but eventually he gets through. All players in that position do.
Instead of criticizing him, get behind him.
