Like Kaka when he was fit.
Yep, even today's goal was quite Kaká-esque:

Kaká started his movement at the center of the pitch, and Mkhitaryan out wide - but the post-through ball first touch at the edge of the box, acceleration, and subsequent shooting technique/power was incredibly similar.

I thought he had a superb game but I am finding all this over the top fawning over him to be a bit nauseating to be honest. You would think we had a player better than Messi the way some of you are acting.

We've had years of Valencia, Young and Depay stinking up the wings. Forgive us a little excitement.

Just wanted to post that Kaka goal!

BBC:
United manager Jose Mourinho said it was not a serious injury.
"It looks like next match not, but not needing surgery. Hopefully we have him for Boxing Day," Mourinho told MUTV.
Mourinho was initially "afraid the injury was serious" but said he would be without him for a maximum of "a couple of weeks".
He will miss Wednesday's trip to Crystal Palace and Saturday's match at West Bromwich Albion but should be back for the Premier League match at home to Sunderland on 26 December.

His form the last couple weeks has been brilliant but it's not just form, it's almost basically every touch he's made. Solid touch, solid passing, solid pressing, solid dribbling combined with decision making, build up play, pace, running with AND off the ball etc etc. It's everything you hope for in a modern day wide player i.e a player that hugs and use the width but has the intelligence AND physical attributes to go outside and inside towards the goal.

That first touch for the goal was brilliant. Running at full pace in full stride to take the ball away from the defender and open up the space for the shot.

Obviously it'd be hard for him to keep this form up for the rest of the season but his fundamental game is there for all to see; he'll improve us even without his individual moments.

This type of form was his natural for the whole season last year at Dortmund.

how do they know that so quickly? Looked like he was headed to the glue factory they way they took him on that bloody stretcher. I was crapping myself as it would typical that after a bad start that he has 4-5 Man of the Match performances on the trot with 2 assists and 2 goals for him to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
It was the 86th minute. We were up 1-0. Stretcher does not sound such a bad idea. I think he just rolled it. He will have a bruise that will heal in a couple of weeks. i had a chronic twisted ankle l.lol. u just gotta let it heal. two three weeks max. Shame its the boxing day. The ankle has to be strong since that will directly affect his ability to dribble.
I wish we could get Willian on the left wing. Him and Willian played brilliantly together in shakhtar donetsk. Martial is talented, but we need a better performer to be able to get the title.

He reminds me of Lee Sharpe in the way he runs with ball at the toe of his tip, and able to pivot at fast speeds. If Martial can develop into an equally incisive left inside forward and Rashford into a 'Shearer' type centre forward, this has the making of being a top trio in world football in the next 24 months.

He plays with so much confidence. His games vs West Ham, Zorya and today's one will do him wonders. He grabbed that starting spot by the neck so quickly and it seems he won't let it go anytime soon.

Jose:

"I am happy with that from Henrikh. I don't care about individual trophies but for a player like him who spends working and working it means a lot. Not just the way he's creating but his defensive participation in the team. He crossed the line to be a better player. He crossed the line mentally, that others have to cross. I want more from some of my attacking players. The two moments of recovering the ball are crucial moments. Mkhitaryan was superb on that."

This is the second time Mourinho has highlighted the importance of how our players react in transition, although I believe he said recovering the ball and losing the ball.

Remembering how Mkhitaryan played in the City match e.g., I think this is the main reason he was left out of the team. Even today he had a few moments were it looked like he didn't respond the way the team expected him to (pressing the full-back), but except those he has looked very good without the ball. He created a chance against Everton after regaining possession all by himself for example.

His goal was after a quick recovery of the ball. Pogba's chance early on as well (maybe 2nd or 3rd minute), a move started by Mkhitaryan.

You guys really don't get it !

Mourinho didn't sign him and doesn't want him.

Your club is a clusterfeck !

The debates on here are hilarious. You have no idea about what is going on at your club
Hope you're ok buddy, you haven't been posting often as of late.

Should he have passed it to Zlatan? I know he scored but if he passed to Zlatan is was a guaranteed goal
Yes he should have. Everybody knows the best way to score a goal isn't to shoot It into the net, passing to a team mate with defenders close by is always the best option

Only because he scored, he couldve easily missed. I'm not criticising him, but I still think it would have a wiser decision to square it to Zlatan

I would say its not clear which decision is the best. Had there been no defender in between, I'd argue pass is the best option by far. However, he takes a long touch and the Spurs CB is blocking the angle quite well for a pass - but is nowhere to block a shot.

He was 1 on 1 with defenders between him and Zlatan - who in their right mind would pass

This ain't FIFA man. A missed pass to Zlatan and people would be outraged.

I've researched it and Alderwereild was sprinting back and sliding Mkh as he just released the shot so if he had squared it, then I think Alderwereild wouldve intercepted it with his slide tackle

He could easily have messed up the pass though, it's not as simple as it looks to play the right weight on the ball when in that situation and he wouldn't have been sure that a defender couldn't block it. He made the right choice

Only because he scored? That's exactly what he was trying to do. Why are you trying to get a debate going on something that we really don't need a debate on? He kicked it in the goal therefore it was the right decision.

Even if not, the Zlatan pass wasn't easy with alderweireld trying to cut it out.

He 100% made the right choice. And kicking it in the goal is also 100% always the right choice.
