Who else is capable of scoring such a goal in our squad? Probably Martial, but that's it - while Pogba, Ibra and Mata have enough quality, they don't possess the same mix of pace, close control and calmness

Actually Lingard may be a good bet.

This guy is wonderful  Looking forward to seeing many more goals from him because he's definitely capable of doing that. One of the first names in the starting 11 now surely.

I like the Kaka comparison as thats what the goal reminded me of.

I remember a lot questioning his attitude, but after that City game shocker, Jose pretty much challenged him, Mkhi worked hard, got into the team and is making sure he remains in the team. Fair play to him. Its nice to see a creative talent work hard to get the chance to shine and not complain or be 'all talk, no walk'.

Seems incredibly consistent with his technique and one touch passing. Stuff you would expect professionals to be good with, but no matter the pressure around him, he seems to always get the weight and direction just right. Ibra and pogba you see mess it up now and then, or need a touch before releasing, and same with others. Mata can only really do it with his left and he usually likes taking a touch. Miki is basically the only one who can release it first time with either foot, no matter how much pressure is around him, and its such a help to start attacks. Plus being able to produce moments of quality like his goal is a bonus. Simply should start most games for us.

Was gonna say, lingard had a somewhat similar goal against Leicester in the community shield. Though Lingard generally isnt in the same level as Miki of course, he is the same type of player so he is good as cover for him.

His father is a villain from a Bond movie.

Starting to get into the groove now. Some paralells with ozils first season at arsenal. Maybe because theyre playmakers predominantly and have to learn what to expect movement wise from team-mates whereas your martial type players just have to do their own thing.

Seem to be kicking off now. Amazing acceleration, technique at high speed, cool finishing.

Good thing Mourinho didn't leave him to sulk thinking he need a year to bed in. feck that, you will gel in and perform from day one you big goofer! You're 28 yo ffs.

That goal from Mkhi reminded me of the goal he scored for Armenia vs Italy where his change of pace and direction left Barzagli with only the option of grabbing Mkhi's jersey.

correction: Barzagli was left flat footed, De Rossi was pulling Mkhi back.

He seems to be the only one from our attacker last night that was not affected by the condition of the pitch, Pogba keeps slipping, and all the other cannot dribble properly, yet he just dribbled past people easily for the goal, amazing

Hope he gets another goal against Spurs at weekend

I expect he was used to it. Having played in Ukraine until he was 24 he must have seen his fair share of shit pitches in the cold. You're right though, he made it look very easy.

hate to burst the bubble on here but after last night's performance I put him in my fantasy football team, so expect a drop in performance for the next month before I take him out!

It's probably he played in Ukraine for a couple of years but he seemed like he wasn't affected by the pitch at all. He is our shortcut to the goal. He only makes one or two touches and doesn't do mumblings. He is incredibly smart and skillful.

Yeah you really can see which player have experiences with bad pitch condition from matches like this, and Mikhi certainly is used to play in that kind of pitch,

IMO a natural dribbler generally used to play in bad pitch or start as futsal player (Mikhi, Hazard, Neymar, Dinho, Ronaldo, Messi)

He looked, dare I say it, Messi-like as he ran at the goal. Like it was glued to his foot.

We haven't a naturally talented dribbler in a long time, probably since Nani was at his best for us.

Pity he is shite the other dozen games whilst we wait for him to do it though

That's always the only option for Italian centre-halves.

So if you don't agree with my opinion about a player, you just make it personal?
How about you keep to the topic mate.

Aside from De Gea, I believe the only other player that would make any other teams starting 11 is Mkhi.
That's my opinion, whether its popular or not.

And noone other than United fans think Pogba is anything special.

What the crap is going on here?

Is this a typical break the player before building them back up move by Jose?

How did he break him? He was injured twice for extended periods and Mourinho simply wanted to change a few things about him before playing him.
At the same time Mourinho also didn't want to throw him in against quality teams as one of his first games after the disaster of a performance against City.

I think he can be our best player for the rest of the season.

I only get 3 posts a day and this is my last one.
That was in response to someone saying Pogba was the best player at United.
Dont get me wrong, Im not bagging him. Hes a handy player with potential. But I dont live in England and Id have a hard time finding anyone that thinks hes worth his contract or that hes an elite player.

Mikki will only get better and if Martial steps it up and Zlatan keeps scoring we'll terrorise defences.

Mourinho did break a few hearts on this forum though.

You guys are all correct. It probably came back to him naturally. He scored an all time record number of goals playing AM for Shakhtar (25) for one season. He scored a bunch of goals to Zorya as well. That does not take his class away thou:) An EPL defender would've probably crashed into Mikhi and wouldn't let him go through (the guy running from behind), but thats another story.

My fav type of players are those who can burst into a pacey dribbling run with two or three defenders around him, thru the wings or the middle of the pitch. Miky is one of those players, and i absolutely loved yesterday goal. I know more of those plays are coming, as long as he can stay in the first team.

(Probably i love these plays because im so slow and bad at dribbling at football, mertesacker would look like usain bolt next to me)

He's basically the perfect creative player to have in the PL. Extremely skillful, fast, high work-rate and one of the best attacking players without the ball in terms of pressing. Add his strong attitude to adversity and I think there's never been a more perfect Mourinho number 10. I hope it continues and contributes to tangible results.

So is it better to have him on the right with Mata/Rooney behind Ibrahimovic? Or put him in the hole and get a new right winger with pace and flair?

Close to halfway point in the league, he feels like a new signing we did a week or two back. He looks fresh from all that weeks of rest. He's the right candidate to bring us into form and go on a winning run.

He has to make those kinds of runs more often and do it successfully in the PL. Great goal though.
