Film Have you ever walked out of a cinema or theatre showing in protest/disgust?

I actually thought I hadn't, but I just realised I walked out of a Micky Flanagan gig because he was just not funny. I did wait until the interval to confirm with my partner that she did in fact want to leave too, which thankfully she did. He's less funny than Lucy Beaumont and she's absolutely tragic.
What did you do after? Did yous go out out?

We really only saved about an hour so we just called it a night I think as we had eaten already. We couldn't stay out too late as we had a babysitter that night.

The only reason I didn't walk out of The Happening is because I was convinced there was a punchline coming. That's the closest I've ever come to it though.
I remember really enjoying this in the cinema... But then again I was like 12 so

Sometimes used to go to Odeon's "Screen Unseen" thing, where you pay a fiver to watch a movie without knowing what it is. Once it was some horrible, asinine chick flick thing I don't even remember the name of and we walked out after about 20 minutes.

Only got burned with it that once, though - pretty sure the next one we went to turned out to be a pre-release screening of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Once.

300 Rise of an Empire - Absolute shite. There's a speech at some point where whoever the the hero is tells his followers that they're all free men and that he wouldn't judge them if they chose to leave. I was glad he reminded me, gave him a big thumbs up and immediately fecked off.

I get people leaving because they probably didnt enjoy the movie or just can't be arsed to finish it.

But walking out wasnt a protest, nobody cares, the cinema owner arent the one making the movie, so it's a bit weird of a stance.

The Passion of Tibulus. A blasphemous filum.

Probably blasphemous, but I walked out of 'Parasites' (the Korean Oscar-winning one) after 30 mins or so.
I still think it's between shite and meh, having watched it fully since.

What!?! Face/Off is almost as good as Con Air!
Con Air is great fun action film. Face/Off is insultingly stupid and just to make it unbearable we have two of the crappiest actors in Hollywood trying to out Ham each other.

Started it but it didn't grab me and I've never gone back. I suppose I should try again.

But I like ham :(

I mean, cheese is better, but ham is nice too!

No one on the caf has ever actually been to a theatre show

I almost left “IT” because some bloke directly behind me wouldn’t stop his running commentary and telling everyone how shit he thought it was.

Luckily as I was saying “I’m going, he’s giving me a headache now” the bloke in question announced to the cinema that he’d had enough and wanted to go to the bar, and then left. Got to enjoy the last 45mins

I don't think I've walked out of cinemas, but I've walked out of quite a few theatres at the interval. It's a bit of a win really, even though you paid to see the whole play.

I like beer. But I wouldn't want to drown it it

I also have a very high tolerance for action silliness. Con Air, Armageddon, The Rock and The Day After Tomorrow are all action nonsense I can turn my disbelief off and enjoy. Face/Off just made me want to tear my own face off to make it stop.

I don't walk out. I tend to nod off. And start snoring. No matter how hard I try.

I remember watching Tenet at IMAX; saw people walking out of that, well 5 to be precise.

Can’t recall anything else.

You seem to have missed the entire point of that movie. Those people were going in backwards.

I did that at an awful Judi Dench play. Left my wife there and met some friends in the pub.

Fell asleep at both Guys and Dolls and a Victoria Wood concert I had to go to for work events.

I was in high school, around 17, went on a double date with my friend and two cute girls from my class for an all night horror movies marathon - you don’t get an easier shot at hugging your crush than there. Spiking our coca colas with vodka proved to be a fun yet challenging idea, as I vomited spectacularly around the second movie and was kicked out by the staff. The only time I left cinema early

What I'm reading is that you spiked teenage girls drinks in order to curry sexual favours.

Mods can you send the police to his house?

Never did. Mostly because I think it would be awkward to wait outside for my company to finish the movie. I was however very close watching Interstellar. When Anne Hathaway started talking about love as a force capable of travelling through dimensions, I almost set fire to the screen.

Not a movie but a few months back I went to a experimental dance show. I think it was about someone becoming a alcoholic during their uni years. One scene include someone dancing and pretending to drown inside a giant pint glass as it filled up with booze.

The show was 3 hours long. I left after the first hour.

Multiplicity
Armageddon

Gave up with Multiplicity after 20mins and almost finished Armageddon but the cringe American patriotism towards the end was simply too much.

Luckily I didn't watch it at the cinema. I was outraged enough wasting hours of my time watching this utter guff for free.

When we left Face/Off before the end we got to the car and my wife had forgotten her handbag. I went back in to get it and had to fight the tide of people leaving at the actual end to get it. What a night.

Or was that Legends of the Fall? I forget.

I said to myself it would be the last time I watch a movie by that illiterate plot twist merchant. However I ended up watching Dunkirk for free when it was in cinema. It somehow was even worse.

That was just as bad only in a very different way.

Oppenheimer however was brilliant.

Never walked out of a show but I did fall asleep for a large part of one of those fantastic beasts films. I can't ever sleep in a chair so this my equivalent

My friends and I (we were young - school kids at the time) got kicked out of whichever Harry Potter movie came out in 2010 for making too much noise

In no universe or multiverse is the complete and other crapfest that is Armageddon better than Face/Off. And neither is The Day After Tomorrow. I really like John Woo though.

But you disagree so, well, carry on then.
