Have you ever supported Liverpool in a game (Blackburn 95 and Chelsea 10 doesnt count).

At half time I remember feeling sorry for them for being humiliated, never again!

Also this, I cheer and fist pump when my City or Liverpool players score. It feels so wrong, but yeah :wenger:
I enjoy having scouse and city players in my fantasy because it reduces how annoyed I am when they win. I wouldn’t say I exactly fist bump, but it’s a good way of ensuring you win both waysz

I wanted them to knock out City in the CL last season. I was back to supporting Roma and Real Madrid in the next two rounds.

When I bet on them, I'm happy if they win, as I make money. Which is more tangible than satisfaction from them losing, which really doesn't affect me in any real way.

Never.

Well done on winning the stupidest question of all time on Redcafe by the way.
Well quite a few seems to have supported them quite a fre times. Was only curious if any United was like me and never supported them lot unless like in 95 or 2010. Remember 05 when approx 75 percent of red caf supported them against Chelsea in the CL. How the feck can you do that being an Unitedfan

Thats interesting because I read somewhere that a section of Utd fans clapped Liverpool off the pitch at Wembley in 77. And I think Sammy McIlroy wished Liverpool good luck in the final against Borrusia M in a post match interview after the FA cup final. How times have changed eh - and that was during the "bad old days" of hooliganism.

I was 9 years old when watching that Wembley final on TV, it was my first season as a fan, and its the one match in history if I could rewind and change the result I would choose.

Switching the original question - I didn't mind Utd winning the 85 cup final

That's true. When Liverpool did their lap of honour, we applauded them. Same with Everton in 1985. Peter Reid pleaded with the ref not to send Kevin Moran off but to no avail so we all chanted for Everton at the end.

S
I'm not talking about style. I'm purely talking about United fans cheering on Liverpool or fawning all over them. They make my piss boil and I just find it unfathomable that a United fan could ever cheer them on or wank all over Klopp and his style of play.

I actually don't watch them, ever, unless it's against a big side and they have a chance of losing. I literally skip over them on MOTD and have seen feck all of their goals over the past few years. I actually just detest them. Lol, see how much they rile me up
Same here:devil:

I supported them in the UCL QF against City last season.

THAT'S how badly I wanted City's season to mess up.

Supported is too strong a word but I've always wanted them to beat our title rivals over the years and have no qualms about it. At the end of the day whatever is best for United.

One time. Against real madrid this year. Because madrid is everything what i hate in football. They cheat, they dive, they have refs help and they have two players who i hate the most( ramos and ronaldo) so yes, from two evils, liverpool was less evil in that game.

This is good post. When we were head to head with city or chelsea and liverpool played with them, it was obvious thing to do. To say it like politician; i didn't support liverpool but i wanted that chelsea or city or arsenal in 90s lose that game.:)

I don't know what it is about me, unless we are in the comp I support every English team in Europe. There is one particular team I would l I ve to see back in the BPL as well and that is Nott's Forest

In all probability the league will be won by either City or Liverpool this season unless Spurs are on it - obviously being a Fulham fan I don't want to see Chelsea do well - so my preference would be Liverpool given that to the best of my knowledge, Liverpool's owners don't keep slaves or abuse anyone's human rights.

I can remember wanting them to beat Arsenal a few times back when...

Also Newcastle in the 90's too...

Tons of times. I bet money on them, very often, which gives me a profit if they win and a pleasant consolation if they don’t. Win-win-ish, and money is much more important than football after all.

Today I had 100 quid on Liverpool to win, Mane to score anytime and over 3,5 corners. Good stuff.

Sometimes yes. It's not that hard for non-local supporters.

Don't tell me all of yous are not rooting for City this season to win the league as Liverpool seem like a real contender.

No Never, cannot think of a time when I would want them to win. In fact any other team before that shower including Lids and City

I think it's difficult to understand for us international fans because we mostly hate clubs based on the behavior of fans around us and there aren't many Liverpool fans in countries such as Asia. Most of the United fans I know wanted Liverpool to win against Real Madrid and I only hate Liverpool as much as I do because of Benitez's attack on Fergie and Gerrard's camera kissing which made me root for City when Liverpool were about to win the league.

You're kidding right? Liverpool are very popular in the S.E. Asia countries that I've been to.

Sry, I must be generalizing my own experience. Almost everyone I knew growing up was Chelsea or United fans with a few hipsters who supported Real and Barca.

I rest my case...

Your case is meaningless. Countless people chose winning pragmatic football over losing attacking football.

Mourinho - defensive winning football
Guardiola - attacking winning football
Klopp - attacking losing football

It has NOTHING to do with Mourinho. I would pick both Simeone and Aleggri over Klopp because they have far superior tactical acumen. Klopp had a Messi/Ronaldo equivalent goalscorer last season and finished 4th and didn't win a single cup.

Klopp has lost 6 finals in a row, its a red flag to any rational mind that something is wrong with his big game management.

We won feck all last season and Klopp has won Bundesliga in the past so I don't get your stupid generalization.

Remember being in a pub in Manchester when they beat Newcastle 4-3.
Everyone cheered (mostly United fans in the pub), looked at each other in a guilty way, then sat down feeling a little bit dirty.

(It was a clear benefit to United in the title run-in, though).

Unless there is a very clear benefit to MUFC, I want them to lose, heavily, every time.

When they play city? Nah, that's like being asked to choose which version of Hepatitis you would prefer.
