Have you ever regretted that you stopped watching a match or left early?

The Liverpool game. After 20 minutes. I had already lost hope before the game, but what I did not know was that they found just a tiny bit of hope left and stomped on it. The performance was infuriating.
 
Done it once ever and it was this season. Simeone's anti football timewasting made me do it, and I'm not proud.
 
Never purposefully turned of a game. As in I missed the Macheda goal because I had to drop my brother off at work. But still had the radio on. Pretty much always watch games to the end

If at OT pretty much have to be told to leave.

That all said, I've done mad things to ensure I was able to watch games in the past. Recently though I've missed a few and haven't made the effort I would have in the past. Nothing to do with winning or losing. I've always taken the good with the bad.

Recently I've just had a sort of despair/depression watching our games and missing some (but watching highlights) has spared me the agony
 
Only once, I left early because there was a family party that night and I was down to do a lot of the taxi servicing.

It was a few years back against Blackburn Rovers at OT we were winning 3-0 (Berbatov on a hat trick), dragged my Grandson out moaning and groaning with about 10 minutes to go. By the time we had got to the car it was 4-0, out of car park (W2) it was 5-0 and on Westinghouse lane it was 6-0. My Grandson wouldn't speak to me all night and told everyone who would listen what a 'so and so' his granddad was.
 
When I am watching on TV? Sometimes yes, when I have to leave because of an appointment, etc.
When I am in the stadium? No way! I don’t pay all that money just to leave early.
 
During the Van Gaal and Jose eras on several occasions I actually -- as in literally, not figuratively -- fell asleep during a United match. But no, I have not stopped watching a United match early, at least not intentionally.

I was going to mention this one - we left early to beat the traffic and scored walking across the car park outside the ground. My son wouldn't speak to me for a week !!
 
Since I’ve been a season ticket holder (10 years-ish), I’ve usually stayed to the end. There was a time when I’d go early because my dad wanted to beat the traffic, I remember missing the final three goals in Jan 2008 when Ronaldo scored his first hat trick for the club against Newcastle United. Was fuming!!
 
I turned the tv off in a rage when the final whistle blew against Brighton where we got a penalty after the game was finished, came on here moaning about it being 2-2 and had no idea we'd won :lol:
 
Not stopped watching but kind of. I had been watching the 1999 semi final replay against Arsenal. I was recording it on tape. When P. Neville conceded that penalty, I stopped the VCR. I did keep it on till the end after that.
 
Never happened with United since United are my club. But it happened in non United game like yesterday Real Madrid vs City, I stopped watching in 88th min.

Although, I could understand fans who stopped watching in Old Trafford during midweek so they can avoid trafic to go home since they have work the next day morning.
 
Never left early when I was in a match, but obviously I'm not a regular match-goer so it's different.

As for turning off the TV, I can only remember the 1-4 defeat to Spurs on New Year's in 1996. No regrets.
 
Went out to join a party earlier than I had planned when we went 2-0 down against Spurs in 2009. Then Howard Webb gave us a penalty that counted for five goals and we won 5-2 by scoring that penalty.
 
I regret tuning back in to that City game that final day of the season. I was already checked out and ready for the next season to start when someone called me and said it was on.
 
I can't think of a time when I've done it because we're losing. Usually it's the other way around.

I remember needing to head out whilst watching us vs Everton at Goodison. We were 3-1 up with a few minutes left, and I found out a few hours later it somehow ended 3-3.

Same again with Leicester in 2015. 3-1 up, then I was at a wedding the rest of the day. Caught MotD later that night and couldn't believe it.
 
Remember the Macheda game? I was so upset with Villas goals that I stopped watching.

Then I did see we did equalize by Ronaldo so turned it on to see Machedas goal.

Since then I have never stopped watching.
 
Never. Not because of some unwavering principle, I've just been lucky the few times I stopped watching early. Well "lucky" here means my team still lost so it might not be the best word.
 
There was this one time I was watching United at the Camp Nou and left on the 90th minute….. not really but you know that applies to someone
 
The closest is me with the finger on the remote just before Terry missed the pen. :D
 
Had to work but stopped watching Crystanbul at 3-0. Was resigned to Liverpool wrapping up the league. Checked the score later and thought it was a mistake until my brother texted laughing.
 
I was very close to switching off when Pep’s City could win the title beating us. They were 2-0 up at half time and it could have easily been 6-0 but they missed so many chances. Luckily United came back in the second half.

Only game I have switch off this season was the Liverpool game at OT. Got to 3-0 and I couldn’t take any more. Certainly didn’t regret that one.
 
Not me, but during the 1999 CL final, a mate ran to the off licence to buy some more beer after the first goal went in because we'd run out, extra time was looming and the off licence was about to close. He completely missed the second goal.
 
Think I’ve only ever left a game at OT early once and it wasn’t a big game. Anyone who does it in a CL game deserves what they get.

I’ve turned the tv off and done something else a few times since Fergie left. Wouldn’t have even cared about missing a comeback due to the team making me feel dead inside.
 
I never leave a game if i watch it in the stadium.

If i watch on TV and turn off, United usually score after, so i can't really regret that i stopped, i prefer taking cred for the goal.
They wouldn't have scored if i was still watching :lol:
 
Bit different; I had a dodgy tummy when we beat Roma 7. Most of the 2nd half I was on and off the bog and the missus kept shouting "they have scored again"!
I saw Ronaldos second, missed Carrick and think it was Evra the last one, but also saw Rossi I think it was score, typical :lol:

I left early when City scored the 4th in the 6-1. By the time I’d got out the ground it was 6. People kept shouting outside that’s it was 7, 8, 9…

Tbh I'm against leaving early generally, if nothing else because its inconsiderate to the people who want to stay and watch the game. Think I'd have been leaving early myself that day though!!

Never knew they put that message on the tannoy mate. What an awful day
 
Only game I have ever left early was at Wembley for the 49ers vs Jags NFL game. 9ers were 42-10 up so we left at the 2 minute warning to be able to get out quickly and avoid the god awful queues for the tube coming out of Wembley.

I've alway's had Utd TV games on until the end, though a lot of the time the game it doesn't have my full attention.
 
Left United-Hull with about 10 or so minutes left at 1-0 up as my old man felt ill. Could hear everyone cheering Rooney's 2nd, 3rd and 4th goals on the way out.
