Don't get mad! Just asking.

I'm already detecting similarities with last summer. Some of our (reported) top targets already falling wayside like Kroos, Hummels, Strootman. We were supposed to be disinterested in Fabregas but according to some reports we're interested again because some of First List Targets have given us the heave-ho. And whatever happened to that Southampton kid, what's his name - or yeah, Shaw?

In the mean time, just like last summer, our rivals are quietly signing players...

I'm pretty busy nowadays so, I was just asking: have we signed anybody yet?

A goalkeeper called Vanja Milinkovic. I think that's it.

If you are that busy it would be quicker to google than start this thread really.

Expect a sponsorship deal in the coming days.

Oh we get those almost on a regular basis. The money goes straight into the Glazers Bank. You don't get rich without getting Woody to count the pennies!

I am getting nervous, but it's the World Cup. It's understandable if big deals can't be made. Especially when our manager is busy managing the Netherlands.

I'm sure he's got targets in the back of his mind and I'm sure there are some targets being discussed right now, it's just a bad time to sort them out really.

According to some reports we signed Fabregas in midweek for it to be only announced that Chelsea beat us to it! I trust the caf more.

Perhaps. But other top clubs seem to be signing players.

I'm not too bothered surprisingly. I was arguing with people last year about not getting worried and that we'd sign someone and ended up looking like a dick in the end when the window was abysmal. The exits of Vidic/Giggs/Ferdinand and more means we must make signings. I have confidence in LvG that he can make the right choices and get the best out of what he ends up with.

Expect disappointment gentlemen. It's Man United in the transfer market - at best it underwhelms.

It's the wrong time for the right calibre of players. After the World Cup, shit will get serious very quickly where all big clubs and big players are concerned.

Feel free to get envious of Liverpool's ability to sign Rickie Lambert and Emre Can though.

Schweinsteiger & Sanchez are imminent, you heard it here first..

after i read it on another forum from an "ITK"

Other than Shaw it's almost impossible to guess who we'll sign.

Nobody knows our targets so any reports are just the papers filling space.

I don't think we'll sign 90% of the players the media are linking us to. The only players I'm ever confident of signing are PL based players as we've got a fantastic record of buying the top players playing in the league....

Even if we signed 10% of the players we've been linked with, we'd have about 10 players coming in this summer!

Other than Shaw I don't think we will sign premier league based players.

We will sign Shaw and Schweinsteiger before the start of the season, as well as Strootman in January. Pogba is a possibility too, but it depends on whether or not Juventus are willing to lower their asking price to £40m. Nani will be given more freedom on the wing this season, and Valencia will be played on the left wing and encouraged to cut inside, with Shaw on the overlap.

Wayne Rooney will take over from Joe Hart as the face and hair of Head and Shoulders after scoring a hat trick in the World Cup semis, before England are knocked out by a dubious penalty in the last minute that will be awarded, according to the Daily Mail, to "A bunch of cheating Argies". This will be incorrect for two reasons;

1) the game will be against Brazil.
2) the score before the penalty is awarded will be 5-3 to the Brazilians.

These are the things that will happen. I have spoken.

Are the lads back in training yet?

Manchester City - Nobody yet
Liverpool - Emre Can, Rickie Lambert
Chelsea - Nobody yet
Arsenal - Nobody yet
Everton - Nobody yet
Spurs - Nobody yet
So it happens that we're the ones that finished 7th and not the others. Our urgency to strengthen should be much higher than those other teams.

This. We needed to get our business done early and we've failed to do so. What I don't understand is why the club were doing deals with Moyes still in charge despite knowing he was going to get axed once it was mathematically impossible to get top four, it was always likely a new manager coming in was going to have different targets.

Arsenal have lost Sagna, Everton have lost Barry, Lukaku, Deulofeu and Traore, Chelsea have lost Lampard and Cole and sold Luiz and City lost Barry and Lescott. Yes we finished seventh but all the teams need to strengthen for one reason or another despite finishing higher than us.

Woodward couldn't find his way round tesco with a shopping list, let alone a list of footballers.
